Yea, they're buttons.
And only his head is skeletal because he's not a normal lich. He hasn't became a full lich, and he still has full flesh and skin and all in his body. :)
And I know the buttons look odd, but it doesn't really matter, because he's a weird guy.

Making excuses for your mistakes rarely works.

It would be the work of but a few moments to make the buttons conform to the contours of the body and the folds of the cloth. And the sprite would look an awful lot better for it.

The buttons look better, and are slowly getting to the right spot, but why are the ones on our left now so small compared to the ones on our right?

Uhh, they're the same size. They're just darker, because of the shadows.

It's an optical illusion - they appear smaller because they're less bright. you can probably keep them the same brightness, but vary their position. But make sure they match the folds, not just the perspective...

Not wesnoth perspective. Not looking too bad so far otherwise.

Yes, but it now appears to be lying down and/or stretching like a cat. it's in roughly the correct perspective though.

Colors + idea is good, if you can pull this off to the same standard as the red fire dragon this should be pretty cool.
