I dunno. Those children are living in a world infested with undead and strange monsters.. Having a small carving/butterknife doesn't sound too weird to me.

Re: Art for Tale of a Mage
Huh? Only 100-200 years ago everyone here who lived in the countryside or woods had a knife where ever they went. It's originally supposed to be a tool, not a weapon. If you changed it to a knife instead of a dagger (i.e removed the wrist-guard) it would make more sense, though.

I guess not.beetlenaut wrote:Two damage from a child's fist?
@ TrashMan and Girgistian: Okay, changed dagger to a small knife.

M first attempt at a female child..Really, there's not much to differentiate. they are children, the classic female attributes haven't developed yet...
Maybe I should give her a dress?
EDIT:
Definite improvement:

Re: Art for Tale of a Mage
Take 2 is not bad, but I have some suggestions for improving and differentiating it: 1) Make the dress larger on the bottom. Dresses used to be bulky enough that they didn't sit against the legs. Move it out a pixel or two on the right and left. Making it longer would probably also help. 2) Make her arms bare. That would make her top look even less like a shirt. 3) Move the knife to her other hand. It interferes with the lines of the dress making it harder to read correctly. 4) It looks like you did sort of give her breasts. Maybe it wasn't intentional, but just use the torso from the boy.

The maximum attachment is three and I can't host the pictures anywhere so I can't put Trashman's sprite in the "finished sprite" thing up front.
Dang.

Yes. It's definitely a girl now. The only problem is that her chest is still too...something. She looks as much like a short woman as she does a child. I'd smooth it out and call it done.TrashMan wrote:Better?

Well, the age was never specified ..I'm guessing around 10-14 years old.

Re: Art for Tale of a Mage
Posting because I notice you're trying to make female peasant children... which I already did after stealing the male child sprites for 'Necromancer', complete with animations.
Not to say mine are better, but I ought to give something back. x3

Double posting because of forum attachment limit.
As to the age of child units, my guess is 12 or under, given that according to HTTT, 16 is old enough to unlawfully take the throne when the rightful heir was Li'sar all along.
