Where are eras downloaded?

I downloaded a few eras: Mercenaries, Age of Myth, but I cannot find the directories they are put into. (I expected them to be in multiplayer/factions)
It works fine in the game though.

stable branch they can be located in the userdata/data/campaigns/ folder

developement branch they can be located in the userdata/data/add-ons/ folder.

They get put into your userdata directory (specifically, userdata/data/campaigns/ or userdata/data/add-ons/, depending on the version of wesnoth). Where that directory is depends on what your operating system is, but there is a guide to finding it here.

I'm using WinXP stable 1.6.3, and I have no such directory called userdata.

Maybe instead of responding to a post with very little information in it, you should follow the very useful link that exasperation posted.

I haves the following directories in my installdir:
data, fonts, images, manual, sounds, translations

In that data directory the following:
ai, campaigns, core, gui, hardwired, languages, multiplayer, test, themes, tools


The multiplayer/factions directory only contains the corresponding files for the Defaullt Era and for Age of Heroes.

In the campaigns directory there are only directories to the campaigns not for eras.

Eras are also installed to the campaign directory in 1.6, I assure you.
In 1.7, the misleading name "campaigns" is replaced with "addons".

Now I've got it:

C:\Documents and Settings\$UserName\Documents\My Games\Wesnoth1.6\data\campaigns\

I've checked the "Application Data" dir, but I was not aware of the existence of "My Games".
