Forum homepage - how about adding portraits of the mainline characters on top of it?

Heya, another random idea.

If you go to https://forums.wesnoth.org/ then on top you see that shield, the buttons and the search field.

This is clean; simple to use - all fine.

I was, however had thinking ... what if some of the mainline characters would be shown on the
very left side? I don't know how much space that would fit ... perhaps 3 characters on wide
screen, and only one character for smaller screen size estate?

At any rate this is more like a "good idea / bad idea" thread. You can show other icons too,
perhaps some art, or perhaps even randomly shuffling images.

"Inspiration" I got from the scummvm website:

https://www.scummvm.org/

See the floating monkey on the bottom right or the other images on top right. Something like
this could perhaps fit to wesnoth, but not too much - which is why I limited the idea to 3
images at max. The characters in the main list is only a suggestion. You could easily have
different units (or perhaps random units altogether). If 3 images then you could sort of
show one image bigger, the next one behind, a bit smaller, and slightly covered, and the
last one behind that second image, also smaller - a bit a "zoom" effect. Or simply show
one ent portrait image - they look quite nice. :D

Actually found a better example, on their forum:

https://forums.scummvm.org/

So my idea is a bit similar to the images on top, but perhaps a bit bigger,
easier to see (they seem so transparent...) and more tilted to the left.
But roughly, it's quite similar to what I had in mind.
