Ignoring a topic

Post by 8680 »

Is it possible to ignore a topic, such that I won’t see it as having new posts even if it does?

Go to your "User Control Panel" located in the upper right hand corner of the forum page.
Select "Manage subscriptions" from the "Overview" menu in the upper left hand corner of the page.
This will give you a list of all topics that you currently watch. Next to each one is a small box.
Check the ones you no longer wish to be updated regarding, then scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Click the small box labeled "Unwatch Marked" in the lower left hand corner.

Voila! No more updates!

Not merely unsubscribing to a topic to which I had previously subscribed, but rather ignoring a topic such that it would not be marked as having unread posts even if it does, and such that its containing forum would only be marked as having unread posts when topics other than the ignored one have unread posts, rather than the containing forum being marked as having unread posts even when the only such posts are in the ignored topic.

But this has been irrelevant for some time, as external factors rendered the topic in question no longer a problem by other means.
