RULES:

PART I – general rules

1. Every participant of the tournament is obligated to play fair.
2. We play on:
- Stable version of BfW, with numbers 1.12.x,
- default era (random only, if the game is a mirror match, it will be restarted unless both players agree to continue),
- official server (if technical problems appear, players can decide how they will finish the match).
2.1 We play with 360 sec timer (initial: 360/ bonus: 360/ reservoir: 300/ action : depending on players – if both players agree to play with diffrent settings, they are obligated to inform about that on game chat, when the game is started. If player did not mention it, the match may not be accepted.
3. After match the winner is obliged to report the game on forum of the tournament, by giving a link to the replay or directly from here http://replay.wesnoth.org/1.12/ - so it will be possible to download it. Report must include: nicknames of players, who is the winner, which group or which phase is it.
4. The tournament is valid Central European Time (UTC + 1) – registration, terms of games .
5. Title of the game played on lobby must include name of the site: wesnoth.com.pl with annotation – tournament (example: Tournament – wesnoth.com.pl – Group A)
6. If one of players disconnects, the second one has to save the game and wait for his opponent at least for 10 minutes. If our opponent doesn't get back we keep our saved game and finish the game later. If the game would not be finished in primary term, the player who get dc loses the game. Obviously, the fact that one of competitors had dc must be mentioned on forum. Unusual situation would be considered individually.

PART II – group phase

7. Players who would like to participate:
- will be divided into two groups – A and B
- will play on random maps (the addition: International Tournament: Polish Edition).
In groups we play with everybody one on one. From both groups 4 players with the highest amount of points advance to the play-off phase. If in the end of the group phase players have equal numer of points, result of a direct match between them decides about their standings. When this solution does not settle who is supposed to advance ( example: three players have equal number of points and direct matches do not allow to decide who is supposed to get higher rank) decides the amount of points in the Polish Ladder. Link: http://www.rankinggraczybfw.republika.pl/ranking.html
7.1 Player, who has not played at least one game in the first week of the tournament will be disqualified.
8. Group phase – scores:
a ) Scores in the primary term (terms of the games agreed between players):
- 3 points for win
- 1 point for lose
b ) Scores in the addtional term ( terms of the games designated by organiser):
- same as in 8a
- matches not played in designated time will be treated as w/o. In such a situation – 3 points for player who showed up, and minus 1 point for player who was absent. Awaiting time for players to show up for additonal term game is 10 minutes, starting from scheduled time. Attention: w/o will not be treated as a ranked games, but only as tournament games.
Organiser or person assigned to this, will oversee the game. Information about that will be included on the tournament forum.

PART III – quarter-finals, semi-finals, finals.

9. Quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals are played on the following maps: Sulla’s Ruins, Howling Ghost Badlands, Silverhead Crossing, Fallenstar Lake, Delta Sablestone – choosen alternatly between players. When the third match has to be played, map must be selected randomly (the addition: International Tournament: Polish Edition).
9.1 Play-off pairs are created in the following way: A1-B4, B1-A4, A2-B3, B2-A3.
9.2 Juxtapositions in semi-finals are created by the organiser.
10. Quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals are played to 2 wins.

Please, remember to give your laddernick and nationality while signing in. You can do it in this topic.

Important note:

In case of high number of players, selection of them will be made to eliminate those who don't play their matches after registration etc. Players who have 'ladder history of games' will be favoured. The point of this is, not to eliminate those who don't play well, but those who don't play fair, have bad manners, skip games etc. Everyone who don't have 'ladder history of games' will be put on Reserve list. It is expected that the tournament will have 16 to 20 participants. If this number is achieved, the selection may take place (but not necessarily; max number of players is unknown).

I think the rules are great, covered most of the necessary points. Just missed the possibility of rmk in case of mirror I think.

I would also suggest the final in just 1 game, like a Champions League =D That would give more emotion to the game, and it probably will be epic. With 3 games, I don't believe there will be the same emotion in all of them.

And, ofc, I would like to play. Where can I register? =D

The valuable advice.

Hym. What do they think the other participants ?

I'd like to register :)

Ladder nick: Oook
Nationality: UK (sorry... I voted remain!)

As for Danniel's suggestion - the Champions League doesn't have the rng ;)
I think it would cheapen the final a bit if it was on a single game, and it was Elves v UD, or UD v Drakes on Sablestone, or a big rng swing etc.
So I'd prefer best of at least 3. That way we've got the possibility of *two* nail-biting games at the end!

I agree Ook. 3 Games make final less RNG/ match up dependent.
