I mentioned this in another post but I just wanted to reiterate that I'm very excited with the new terraform concept that is budding in Wesnoth. We now have two working factions with empire building abilities, the undead and the loyals. If we could somehow combine them and maybe make a scenario which has empire building orcs with goblins as builders. Then we would have 3 out of the 6 major default factions equpped with empire building. Ultimately id like to see all 6 factions with builders but this can be tricky since elves, drakes, and dwarves have no level 0 recruits. But I think I can see a progression in this direction that will pay off big time.

I'm not saying theres anything wrong with the default factions as is, and I hope we always keep it. But it would be cool to have a sinlge, unified empire building era which includes all 6 of the basic factions.
It is good that war is terrible, lest we grow too fond.

Hey, suvorov, check out the A New Land thread:

http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic. ... &start=120

The 'ANL: Expanded' era contains four factions: loyalists, orcs, undead and outlaws. I do plan to add the elves at some point (with a wose sapling as a forest gatherer instead farmer). As for drakes and dwarves I'm not so sure.
My current projects:
MP pirate campaign: The Altaz Mariners
RPG sequel: Return to Trent
MP stealth campaign: Den of Thieves

Hi,

just a simple question:

Does "undead empire" still exists? Didn't find the map under extensions :(

Thx in advance.

This scenario could make a comeback one day if Mythological & I get interested in restoring it.

In the meantime, I wouldn't wait around.

We plan on bringing this back, for all those interested.

It's not definite yet, but it's a possibility.

We should be ready to release for 1.8.x soon, and then 1.9.x is a possibility.

Is there any plans to inject persistent data to 1.9.x release of this map?

I assume you mean updating as the versions do, and if we decide to go to 1.9.x, it'll always be updated for the latest version.

I think what he was asking was if you were going to use the new persistent variables or not.

They look interesting. We were thinking about making this at least 2 scenarios, so that would be a great idea. I'll discuss it with the other two.

This is in Mica's hands now (thanks for reviving this). I'll get involved for some balance tweaks at later stages, but all other decisions are up to Mica. I trust he'll do fine work!

Undead Empire has been released for the 1.8.x add-on server.

There are 2 scenarios, Undead Empire and Undead Empire Extreme. Undead Empire Extreme is possibly impossible to beat. I haven't seen a playtest with 4 skilled players. Undead Empire (normal) isn't playtested for balance yet, however it is significantly easier than Extreme. Feedback/comments/suggestions are welcome.
