*sees this brilliant way of making maps without having to start up wesnoth to test it, or or work out how to compile the editor*

Wow, now why didn't I think of that

All that needs to be done is to add the new impassable terrain.

Next up: the slippery slope towards in-forum DHTML MP games.

Well it's a very minor problem of an awesome feature, it is proably fine as is :D
A possible solution would be to make 2 tags, like for example [map] and [map_download], the later with the download link enabled (the actual version).
I could take a look at the php code, and add the possiblity of adding flag at the beginning: $NODOWNLOAD, where $ could be replaced by any sign, that is not used by MapWML. With this flag there would be no download this link. It would be also possible to add $DOWNLOAD="map" as well, making player downloads a tar or zip archive with full scenario after clicking the link. The second one would be harder tough, and i dunno if i could do it.

How about "8"?
Special reason that it's missing on the map?

8 tends to want to turn into a smiley when put next to many other characters. Use them at your own risk. I couldn't figure out how to disable smileys inside [map]s. Maybe if I make a second version of the script I will tackle that.

[map]([/map]

Why does it do that instead of displaying it like this?:

[map].[/map]

 This system only works for the 1.2.x version. New-format maps made with 1.3.x do not work with the [map] tag.
