Easy updating
Rather then requiring people to redownload the entire package of 250+ MB (as it is now), why not have a 'patch update' released with just the modified files and an installer that automates the update process?
It seems a bit silly to not have an easy 'patch' for minor updates from revision to revision. Like for 1.7.2 to 1.7.3 or whatever. Now for major updates like 1.7 to 1.8, or even to 2.0, of course you'd want to redownload everything if enough stuff has changed to warrant such a requirement.
In the event that it is possible to update an install by redownloading the entire package and then just installing over the existing install, perhaps it wouldn't hurt to update the wiki somewhere to reflect this, or link it if such a feature is already possible.
It still is a pain for over 250+ MB each time there's an update. >_<
Though it may be already stated, it wouldn't hurt to mention compatibility of save game files and settings with previous versions when there's a new release, if only to reassure us that there aren't any *known* issues with it.

This came up just two weeks ago:

Even then, it is not a new subject.

I suspect having one foot in the past is the best way to understand the present.
