DJ Shadow - Midnight in a Perfect World It is a perfect meld of organ and drums. A mellow track that will is intensely moving. If you listen to anything I suggest, listen to this.
"With glory and passion, no longer in fashion, the hero breaks his blade
Cast a shadow long, so I may hide my face, and in this cloak of darkness, the world I will embrace." Kansas - The Pinnacle

BWV 1001-1012. More specifically the titles are Sonatas and Partitas for Violin and Suites for Cello.

I just bought Sleepwalker by The Panic Division, so I'm enjoying that right now. I get the impression that these guys listened to Depeche Mode a lot when they were young.

Recently, I fell in love in early Rock and Roll. You know, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino... those guys, in a sense, developed popular music composed for the sole purpose of having fun. Jerry Lee is the only white artist from 50s I like, others just sound too fake to me. On that last thread about music, I started a little argument after a similar statement, so I want to explain that by "fake" I mean "played calmly with a distance". Some people like it this way, I don't. So if you want to hear something played not for the money (they didn't get much of it) or fame (the were discriminated anyway) listen to good old afro-american rockers!

Hail, Hail Rock and Roll!/Deliver me from the days of old!
Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?

If you're into that, you might like late-RnB artists like Muddy Waters or Big Mama Thornton. Rock 'n' Roll stemmed a lot from musicians such as them when Elvis outright copied them (well, a copy watered down with a bit of country). Some pieces are pretty cool, although that's more or less my thing.

I personnally am rather into jazz. I currently listen to a good deal of Benny Golson (hard bop). I also like swing, and especially Dixie Land music which has a festive energy that appeals to me. Ska and some Reggae also has that energy, so I kinda like some bands in that vein too.

Patsy Cline - Birth of a Star, The Diablo Swing Orchestra (free on Jamendo), and the new album by Rise Against (on sale for $5 on 7digital.com). Yeah, I have eclectic tastes. :)

I like to listen movie and game music and music from baroque and classicism eras. I'm not really into the new songs unlike most people in my generation, but hey, I like it.

Some of my favorites are John Williams, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Paganini, Mussorgsky...
I can't name any "new" artists I sometimes listen to

Diablo swing orchestra: isn't this the heavy-metal-swing-thing? IIRC, I had listened to their album once (do they have more then one) and found the first piece to be rather enjoyable and a good mix of the styles, while the rest of the songs leaned more towards metal and were much less enjoyable to me. But it was a few years ago, so maybe I'm recalling stuff wrong.

I guess that's an accurate description.
