Could Makefiles and other autogenerated files be added to the .cvsignore file. It is a minor point, but I prefer when doing updates not to get a lot of ? output for files CVS doesn't know anything about. Thanks

Apologies if this is located in a FAQ somewhere, but I've noticed people refering to campaigns that aren't included in the main download (eg the loyalist campaign). Are these available for all OS versions (mine is mac OSX)? If so, how do I load them into the main game?
I know some units work better against others and terrain affects damage as well. Is there some place that lists this stuff out that isn't in a massive table of numbers?

I think the undead are *way* too powerful in multiplayer. I can't even beat the computer when it's playing as the undead. (mainly trying with the Loyalists, but I think the other factions will do even worse against them with the possible exception of Rebels)
In the latest development version, the night/day effects don't look as good as they did in previous versions.. and the transition is choppier too. I think the method used in .7.2 should be used instead of whatever it uses now. Just my $.02. :idea:
The zooming/unzooming feature of the game is kinda nice, but it's difficult to implement without alot of effort, and will continue to have bugs crop up in it. How useful do people think it is to retain as part of the game?
I understand how you create a game and such, but how does another person join in your game? Do they need something funny like your IP address to enter as a server name?

It seems to me that most users of Wesnoth are currently from either the GNU/Linux community, or the Mac community. Windows users -- the largest userbase by far -- seem far less tapped.
I know that there are far more games on Windows, and thus far more competition, but there are also far more...
I'm just writing this to say I love this game. It's nice to see work of such quality being produced in the Open Source community. It's always nice when a new 'home grown' game emerges for us Linux types, and it's extra nice when it's ported across platforms so you can let others in on it too....
What do the different abilities mean (i.e. leadership, ambush, marksmanship, etc.)? Some of them, like heal and cure, are mentioned in the manual, but others I can only find referenced in the unit descirptions, which isn't any help.
Wooh, on turn 47 we finaly managed to surround our last remaining enemy with everything we had left; sadly he managed to take down two of my ghosts, a wraith a wolf and something else in the progress but now we managed to form a circle of fighters! hopefully penguin will post his version aswell :D
I'm playing through the campaign at the moment, and have come across what I feel is a little flaw. Namely, that when reaching the later levels, it is impossible (for me) to complete a scenario on the first try, not using much too much gold.
For example, when I entered the river crossing scenario...
Hills and Mountains: This area is reserved for dwarves. They move like nothing else around there, a good combination of thunderers and warriors should take care of anything in the mountains. The trickiest unit to kill at the mountains are the mages, since they'll have a higher chance to hit you...
