The development version of Wesnoth now requires SDL3 to be installed. Many Linux distributions do not yet have the version required for Wesnoth in their stable release, however, with the commands below one can get the up-to-date version on Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint etc …
A nightly build of wesnoth master branch is available as a flatpak package now. Flatpak is a new package format for linux distros that allows distro-independent releases as well as runs applications in a sandbox for security. You can check here how to set it up on your distro.

Has something gone wrong? The flatpak install for linux still shows it is at version 1.18.4 ...? (both on the flathub site and in the Wesnoth full-report the version is at 1.18.4 )

Could someone please help me with the environments? Like, I have vs2022 and Cmake installed on my pc, am I ready to build the game? I've done some work in similar projects using C++ like minetest, do I already have the env I need to build?
If not, what else should I install by VS installer? like...
