1) I notice in a scenario the enemy (ai) only recruits 1-2 units per turn despie enough gold and a large keep for the first 2-3 turns and by that time he is overrun by my attack. I guess this is a bug or unintentended behavior on the ai?

in 8.1. Cartain things misc/map, terrain/signpost etc are not found.
One solution is to put them in the data/campaigns/mycampaign/images directory, but that is needlessly making more copies of the same thing

The latest dev (0.8.3)version of wesnoth looks slower, expecialy in the redraw of the map. at 1024x768 fullscreen it's not playable (very annoying redraw effects) it works well only at 800x600 (can't run it fullscreen since i'm on a laptop with screen resize)

After updating to 0.8.3 (on Debian/unstable) I noticed that unit descriptions aren't shown anymore. I didn't try yet to recruit new units, but the error occurred with both recalled and enemy units.
