Several of our mainline campaigns are in the works for upgrades at the moment, which includes adding characters and enhancing existing scenarios. We are looking for more artwork to supplement these upgrades, including the following:
We are happy to announce that Wesnoth is now able to accept donations on Liberapay. While Wesnoth does rely on the work of dedicated volunteers, no project can function completely cost-free. Revenue from the Apple App Store and from donations goes towards maintaining our servers,...

It looks good at the bottom since the page isnt too long; i had no problem finding it.
There have been numerous important forum posts and wiki articles written by users and developers. We reference these pages a lot, and decided to put them together in a convenient list. ------
Write clearly, be nice to others, and be very careful when posting anything related to politics or religion. When asking for help, remember that everyone here is a volunteer. Prefer editing your previous post over double posting. No animated avatars or graphical signatures. Don’t plagiarize...

My idea is this; to make life easier on prospective Frankensteiners, would it be possible to organize a collection of heads, horses, shields, swords, spears, axes, bows, helms, and various other trinkets into a 'palette', in the same way some artists use an overlay with the selected colours around...

anyone is going to publish a more clever franken pack? this thread should not die
NOTE: This document isn't intended to be set in stone - if you think something's missing or wrong, please say so. Make a thread called Critique Guideline Discussion if you wish to discuss it: and have all posts regarding it there, to cut down on noisy threads.
The truth is that, for every semi-competent artist producing art for Wesnoth, there are at least 10 people designing campaigns and factions. Doing art for a faction is much more time consuming than “designing” all but the most meticulously balanced faction. Lots of...
Asmodeus is working on a portrait for Thea, from Of Pearls and Pirates. We'd like to post the draft here and get feedback from doofus-01 before adding more details. Doofus-01, what do you think?

I think it is the eyelashes that make the closer eye seem bigger.
As the poster earlier said, it is possibly an effect caused by the downscaling, because otherwise they seem the right size and in the right place.
I copied the irises from one side to the other to show what I...
Asmodeus is working on a portrait for a younger Asheveire, as seen in The Deceiver's Gambit (and possibly other future campaigns), and based on her appearances in HttT's story art. As with PaP's Thea portrait, we'd like to post the draft here and get feedback from doofus-01 before adding more...

I'm jumping in from an outsider's perspective, but I feel like the proportions are slightly unusual. Lips generally extend to just under people's irises unless they're pursed together (which might be the case here, but I'd expect to see a more circular shape in that case). I also feel like the eyes...

Well, likes are for sure a sign of appreciation, but at the end of the day you must be satisfied with your work and results. From my experience artists nowadays have to be social media experts, which kind of sucks. Because a good artist isn't automatically a good social media star. To get attention...
Starting on making a couple portraits. I've never really done digital art before, so I'm excited to see how they turn out! This one is for a thief character.
TL;DR: Most of the units I finished ended up in the mainline as of 1.18. If you want to use the new Saurian units in 1.16, download the "Saurian Pack" addon.

As you might guess, saurians are my favorite race in Wesnoth by far. I'm surprised that there are no additional...

There are actually two proper version for the hat guy.
I have agreed to draw new portraits for The Dark Hordes, which is being completed by KameRamen. For now, I am making human portraits for Gwiti and Nati. This is a thread for criticism and suggestions.
My story on why I'm getting back to wesnoth after more than 10 years begins with a snarky remark from my best friend.
“ Why are you trying to use photoshop on windows when you could use an open source equivalent on linux ? ”
“ I don't know, I replied. Why are you play a proprietary final...

Btw I'm partially for a while, also been quite more active DM'ing Laerne about somoe stats proposses for catgirl units.
First thing to point is that considering the un-ortodox weapons that these units are using... my suggested stats are as well highly experimental and way more creative mostly to...
Hi, all. I'm rather new to the forums and this is my first post (though I have been lurking for a while), so please bear with me if I'm not very knowledgeable on the workings of the forums. (I have read the Guidelines and such, but that can only do you so much when you first join a community...

Posting some quick touch-ups on an edit I did for Maks a while back on Discord -- revisions on level 1 Jessene from HttT TRoW.
Asmodeus has put together this very nice Rogue Mage portrait, for future inclusion in mainline. Doofus-01 requested some changes, and also requested we document the process on the forums so we have a more permanent record - discord conversations can be ephemeral.
Here's Asmodeus's original Rogue...

Sounds great. Thanks for your approval, and we'll keep the tangents issue in mind for the future.
Well, its this time of the year and again and I decided to make another Advent Calendar. Its the fourth, because I did not find time last year.
As last time I will be drawing small animal and monster pictures. The first one will be a cheap frank , but I will try to increase quality.
As I can'...

Birds are really easy to draw, as the colors of the birds make them recognizeable and you don't have to use an outline.

Hi. For a long time I was dreaming about creating Star Wars Wesnoth mods. I don't think I will create a SW mod anytime soon, I should focus on my WesGothic mod instead. Tenebrae have created some arts for my SW mods. I will upload them in this topic. Thanks Tenebrae!
Those 4 troopers from Galactic...

Thanks for reply.
I know about this copyright problem, that is why i upload my WesGothic mod to Mod DB. BTW - It's a bit funny for me that WesGothic is the only Wesnoth mod on the Mod DB website. xD
I agree and disagree about colors. While it's true that brighter colors are nicely visible o...

Hey bro . I really like your sprite and I like this idea of units from your era faction that you plan for to release in add-ons. Also I make your sprite with my own style to you so. It's your first fanart that I make from myself to you.

Does anyone have a hex-sized sprite of a bush? A rather full and round one, as I would like to use it in my scenario for a hiding spot. A bandit will jump out of it.
I would be grateful and add you to the author list.
Any new sprites ? Cause Art Workshop been unused for long time... Im curious about new sprites. Looking for something new to add to WOTG . Can you post here links to your art work guys?

You can use these if you want so long as you credit me. They are from an era I'm working on
Wespal is a small GUI application to allow Wesnoth artists and content authors to easily preview graphics as they would be transformed by the game's team coloring mechanism without needing to run the game itself.
It provides split-panel image preview functionality, as well as the option to save...
I have created the campaign called The Bees Journey, in which insects are the protagonists.

The campaign has already completed all scenarios, so the remaining issues are the arts. I am looking for artist to collaborate with.
In this thread I share my art - for the most part - portaits and concepts for GSE aka The Great Steppe Era (viewtopic.php?t=53932) for the purposes of critique, feedback and improvement.

Greetings everybody,
I am new to making units and coding for wesnoth, and I thought it'd be good to get some feedback on my art, so i'll be posting it all here.

Hi! Some of you may already know this, but there is an online platform that creates images starting from natural languages. it is called DALL-E.
True artists might be horrified by the concept, but I think it would be a great resource for UMC creators, especially for story screens. There are 50...

Hi there.
I don't know for how long I've been playing Wesnoth now. 15 years? more? My favorites have always been the sidhe elves (playing ageless era, as you can guess) and I've always been sad they had no portraits for their units. That brings me to my question: I've made some portraits for...
