Several of our mainline campaigns are in the works for upgrades at the moment, which includes adding characters and enhancing existing scenarios. We are looking for more artwork to supplement these upgrades, including the following:
We are happy to announce that Wesnoth is now able to accept donations on Liberapay. While Wesnoth does rely on the work of dedicated volunteers, no project can function completely cost-free. Revenue from the Apple App Store and from donations goes towards maintaining our servers,...

I think it is long past time I got around to trying to write this. I've seen so many people attempt to make factions that are unaware of basic principles and it is becoming frustrating to me. The objective of this guide is to explain some of the basic principles of faction and era design for new...

Mechanized combat in the year 2033. Nine general units with 4 factions each having an additional three units. Most have at least one upgrade tier available. To play you've got 27 maps, with the aim to allow a mobile gameplay style, moving your leader forwards as the battle comes...
Ageless Era is a compilation of the most popular eras and factions on the add-on server. It is more than an era pack than an era. The current version of the era is in thread title. It is currently being worked for version 1.18 of Wesnoth. The most important thing for anybody to know about Ageless...

While some things are way too strong like the very underpriced shroom charger , the era clearly has so much uniqueness and overall high creativity at units designs. It could probably have a bright future. Art is quite simple but it's own art which in this times is something that many modern eras...
Hello, I am the author of the Reign of The Lords era. The Reign of the Lords is an era where you play as 8 factions of ultimate lords reigning over a division of wesnoth - yet you are not satisfied. Fight as the greatest heroes, villains, and warriors....

Greetings! My name is Inferno8, and I'm thrilled to introduce you to my add-on - Era of Magic (EoMa). Since 2007, I've been working tirelessly to create an immersive and visually stunning addition to Battle for Wesnoth. I tried to add some Simplified Chinese translation to this Add-On. Especially some names and descriptions of configuration options. There are maybe some problems.
Count Units Cost Default Era.
Era that base on default/mainline units and factions but it has unit cost better balanced (units cost is counted by my mode Count Units Cost) what makes game better balanced.
One system/device that fair counted units cost.
In this addon unit cost isn't taken from a...

Thanks, I updated and tried it out this morning works great. I think this has now replaced Ageless Era as my groups go to era for world conquest. Thanks again.

I made some adjustments to the faction due to balancing:
All Lynx receives first strike to compensate lower damage output and low health. I think its plausible that an animal is slightly faster.
All Orcas receive Submerge, also fixed some problems with Young Orca. This is a little compensation for...
"Vyncyn Rashy Era" is on the wesnoth 1.18 addon-server. It contains 15 factions with mostly selfmade art.

ABILITY_FEAR with -25 per level is too strong, better change it to -15.
Inspired by things such as The Reign of the Lords adding level 4 and 5 units which I felt was long overdue and RangedAttacksMod, Plan_Your_Advancements_Mod, Elves_Banding_For_War among other nice addons that have popped up, I made Shards Era. It's on the Wesnoth 1.16 addons server. This era allows...

Recently Bob made a new spin on A New Land which used generated terrain extensively. I'm currently hovering around 95% CPU on turn 30 with just a small 30 unit army. Now I realize the number of units was not causing Wesnoth to overclock my little Lenovo.

Because the price of it increased astronomically?
i think because he referred to notebook/laptops.
my point was:
for a normal desktop you wont get 6GB ram sticks, and also you would not want to use 8/4 combination or 3x4 because of weak performance
so 12 GB is not a thing except for laptops
Hey, everybody! I'm creating an era called the "Lonely Era" which I've just made available for download on the add-ons server. Interesting direction simplifying it down to one faction, but I’m curious how replayability holds up without unit advancement and with fewer mechanics. Have you considered adding some form of branching upgrades or choices on level up to keep variety?

Nice to see Vintage Era updated for 1.19. Does it include any balance adjustments compared to the original 1.18 factions?
It has the unit changes that were made in Wesnoth 1.19. See the Wesnoth changelog.txt for what has changed since 1.18
Hello, this this is the feedback and bug report thread for my era ANLEra
It takes the macros found in the mainline scenario A New Land, and adds more factions, such as Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Outlaws, Undead and Drakes.
It is on the 1.12.x add-ons server.
I hope you like it!

I have a very old "Ageless New Land" mod that adds a few extra factions for A New Land. Needless to say it's horribly unmaintained (it's 16 years old I think lol), but perhaps I can salvage something from it.
( Don't be too hopeful though, I have a tendency of leaving stuff undone )
Some of you may have noticed that over the last few months several faction ideas have been proposed on this board and partially implemented before being abandoned either due to neglect, or lack of a playable platform.
Some of the factions were not viable, others are little more than...

Sidhe stormlord looking like woman. I suggest using new sprite and use current one for another unit.
I made a tool in the form of a web page that allows you to easily create your own era, factions and custom units, giving a lot of ease when waiting to make you custom faction with the default game sprites.
Game already uses every addon as one WML document (4.6MB for noncampaign mainline, 25.1MB for ageless). Importing such file would allow tool load any addon, and when exporting convert addons to consistent directory layout.
We are excited to release to you fellow Wesnoth Fans, a little treat. For those of you that have played Eastern Europe at War, the Infantry Wars Era, or 18th Century Warfare, this mod will probably appeal to you. This is going to be another historic mod to add to your *favorite* mod library. The...
