Several of our mainline campaigns are in the works for upgrades at the moment, which includes adding characters and enhancing existing scenarios. We are looking for more artwork to supplement these upgrades, including the following:
We are happy to announce that Wesnoth is now able to accept donations on Liberapay. While Wesnoth does rely on the work of dedicated volunteers, no project can function completely cost-free. Revenue from the Apple App Store and from donations goes towards maintaining our servers,...

It looks good at the bottom since the page isnt too long; i had no problem finding it.
There have been numerous important forum posts and wiki articles written by users and developers. We reference these pages a lot, and decided to put them together in a convenient list. ------
Write clearly, be nice to others, and be very careful when posting anything related to politics or religion. When asking for help, remember that everyone here is a volunteer. Prefer editing your previous post over double posting. No animated avatars or graphical signatures. Don’t plagiarize...

The Community Guidelines have been updated.
The Moderation section has been expanded to cover Discord moderation issues.
The Wesnoth Units Database, accessible at units.wesnoth.org, provides a way to view all information, such as name, advancement path, terrain movement costs, etc, about mainline and add-on units via a browser.
These web pages are automatically generated via a script that runs weekly. If for some...

I'm not certain when this started, but I think it might have been when the incremental upload/download feature was added.
it is present for 1.16.x and 1.18.x addons servers and absent for 1.14.x addons servers
also was absent for 1.12.x and...

Hi there!
Over the past few weeks there has been a massive...
Let me explain the background for this suggestion.
I am multitasking a lot, and I am usually rather busy with reallife, but some of my spare
time I invest into things that are more fun, including games, including wesnoth,
every now and then.
Sometimes I am kind of weeks inactive or months and...
Random question, I'm updating an old (2013 last update) viewtopic.php?t=31932 campaign with the blessing of the authors, and I want to be able to post updates and discussions etc in the forum channel.
But obviously I can't edit the original message where people normally store the updates and...

Also, you should update the topic_id in the add-on itself to point to the new topic.
Sometimes I don't pay much attention to wesnoth (e. g. due to reallife) and
then don't quite know what is going on. I can read the forum, which is fine,
but takes time and often does not yield a thorough picture either, as it is a bit
biased.
Would it be possible for wesnoth to,...

That would be interesting indeed.
I think the main issue is to find someone to do it.
Maybe just copy-pasting the content of the changes from the forums post could be a first try.
Helo,
I had issues while registring via microsoft edge.
After pressing submit it didn't register, instead it moved me to terms page again and went into loop: 'terms' page > 'form' page.
When I tried to do it on chrome it worked.
I've worked it out with some help from mods on discord official se...
Hello, I'm gonna write about the Wesnoth wiki, since I feel that I am the only one who's updating it - the latest topic being "Northern Rebirth" dialogue - while almost all the other users activities last in early 2010s.
Can someone else help updating BfW wiki to the present day?...
Hi, first time posting but I'd been playing Wesnoth for a while years ago, then stopped and resumed now
I noticed there is a misalignment between the campaigns listed on the wiki and the ones that are actually included in the game (1.19.14 on Fedora 42 if that matters)
In chronological order, on...

As in title. Only Wesnoth site is loading not completly. What can be a reason of this? Yesterday everything was fine. I'm using chrome.

ferrara_4_4 wrote: July 14th, 2025, 3:34 pm Wiki articles like the "How to Play" series is broken, too. Unit images not loading.
Seems to be because of the DDoS protection having to run on every subdomain you go to for the first time, and the images are from units.wesnoth.org with the series being...
When I came to the site today I got an infuriating "Hold on a minute while I check to make sure you're not a Bot".
I don't see Cloudflare mentioned in the URL. (Cloudflare is where I usually encounter the "Please wait while we check the security of your connection", which I consider equally...
On https://wiki.wesnoth.org/Special:Export, you can "Add page from category" and "Add pages manually" but I have no idea how that works.
Suggestion: There should be an example of the expected format on that page.
I tried various things (e.g. TerrainWMl, "TerrainWML",...

Okay, I tried it again and it worked perfectly, including for exporting multiple pages at a time. No idea what happened, what I was doing wrong or what, but it's working now, so... Okay.
Thanks for your help.
In general I think the website is nice. The layout is visually appealing, people will quickly find what
they want (if it exists), or quickly be able to download the game, possibly also on mobile (I use oldschool desktop computers,...

Adding a link to addons.wesnoth.org for the current version would be a great idea indeed.
Hi, the avatar pic in profile is currently limited to 100px width and height.
Can you increase that size to 200px , same as google.
For i want to upload my face pic, thanks...

I may need to come up with some Avatar myself - more than 20 years here and still not having one ...
I think 100px is ok-ish though; most Avatars should easily fit into that. Then again I have no objection to any other format either; I guess the primary rationale may either have to do with storage...
I hope Wesnoth wiki will tell us different features in Wesnoth content, and how to code them. It would make life easier for future add-on developers and result in more diverse add-ons in the future. I know WML Workshop forum but it has one problem: people must ask questions in order to get...

How do I search the forums for an exact match?
f.e. I try to search "era of heroes" and it returns posts that contain the three words, but not together.

Works well with Bing and Yandex, Google seems to ignore the quotation marks.
Years ago google had a variant called google verbatim which still respected "" but it went away after a short while.
Thanks for the tip about them, I use searx myself...
The current Wesnoth wiki seems to have been abandoned, I’ve been thinking about improving some of the pages, is there anything specific I shouldn’t edit?

A comment on the Timeline:
I think there is an inconsistency, it states in 12 YW the orcs don't take Wesmere and then attack the humans, then in 20 YW Haldric dies and his son takes his place, and only then does it say that the Legend of Wesmere begins with Kalenz leaving Lintanir with Landar. I...
It appears that, on the 1.17 add-on server, the published add-ons that have been deleted through the in-game interface are still available for download.
While the add-ons are not showing in the in-game add-on manager, they are still listed on the https://addons.wesnoth.org/1.17 web interface.

The 1.17 web interface is no longer getting updated and it stores the add-ons referenced by the download links separately from the actual add-ons server, so even though it was deleted from the add-ons server it's still available there.
I'm toying around with writing a Wesnoth lua GUI tutorial. It'd be nice to have images as examples to refer to. I've followed https://wiki.wesnoth.org/Help:Editing to images, managing files, the sidebar, changed my theme to MonoBook so the sidebar actually shows up, but I'm just not finding the...
I am new to the game and new to the forum but i already have one suggestion:
What about a private message for new members to the forum?
A message where you are greated and maybe some important links are included.
These kind of messages are not required but I always find it a warm...

Also, check-out my add-on called "DIY Campaign" located on the Add-On server.
It has information in the beginning, displayed in the "story" text. It explains the process.
Which font does the forum use for all the little buttons/icons? I know it's something from google's font server, I'd like to try and figure out if I can install that particular font on my PC.
I want to find all posts with the string, scenario.name--not scenario and name etc.
I tried +"scenario.name" but it splits it up.
