Several of our mainline campaigns are in the works for upgrades at the moment, which includes adding characters and enhancing existing scenarios. We are looking for more artwork to supplement these upgrades, including the following:
We are happy to announce that Wesnoth is now able to accept donations on Liberapay . While Wesnoth does rely on the work of dedicated volunteers, no project can function completely cost-free. Revenue from the Apple App Store and from donations goes towards maintaining our servers,...
There have been numerous important forum posts and wiki articles written by users and developers. We reference these pages a lot, and decided to put them together in a convenient list.
Write clearly, be nice to others, and be very careful when posting anything related to politics or religion. When asking for help, remember that everyone here is a volunteer. Prefer editing your previous post over double posting. No animated avatars or graphical signatures. Don’t plagiarize other’s...
Please make sure to read the wiki page regarding how Wesnoth handles copyright. Not reading on how Wesnoth handles copyright does not prevent the information stated therein from applying to everything posted to this forum.
I was wondering about the possibility of us having some short tracks that would be appropriate for 'mourning' and 'victory' music.
The 'mourning' music could be played if one of the player's high level units die, or perhaps sometimes when certain scenario conditions occur, and the 'victory' music...
In the file multiplayer.cfg each race has a music= spot in there, all numbered wesnoth1-7, I got some custom music, and I was wondering if I put a comma between music options, one will be randomly chosen, for example, let's say that someones music is music=wesnoth-7.ogg, if I were to change it to...
Anybody knows how can I turn guitar pro files into midis? I think every guitar pro file is both a text file and midi file, because when you open it with guitar pro you can see the tablature and listen to the music in midi format.
I'm making a campaign and I need to know about copyright? It's an terror campaign, about dracula and other nocturnal creatures. I'm thinking about using some Castlevania midi music. Is that legal or I'm gonna get my ass sued in some time now?
Since everybody is having a creative period here in the music section i decided to pause my other projects for today and made a move for Wesnoth. Here is an extract of the Elf's Theme i made.
There is a little glitch towards the end, nevermind it.
Ok the slow part will be longer and there will be...
ive had edited loopable oggs ready for almost 24 hours now but no one is taking them because even though we rushed to fit them into lsm and people seem to want them in right away, the developers dont want to put them in for fear of messing up the stable version
I use lame for convert mp3 to wav, but I have not tool converting the .wav file into .ogg file.
Does anybody know what kind of tool is good for this work on Linux?
I have recorded voiceover to the Heir of the Throne campaign (and The rise of wesnoth). It's only in swedish (we did some english also but I haven't portprocessed it yet).
I would love some feedback, is voiceover something we want in the game and what you think of the sound and so on.
I would like to offer to do some voice acting, I have the right equipment (condenser mic, digital recorder, pre-amp and stuff) and I think I can do some lines and find people that would like to help too.
I'm not a native english speaker but I'll try to minimize the accent. I speak flemish ( that's...
Just to make a test i tried a few voices in Wesnoth. A character could maybe speak before hitting his enemy or say a few comments whenever he wants. Having a bit more sound effects could be nice. Also adding birds, wind, water etc... could be very nice. So here is an example of Orcs...
I'm working on my undead music a long time now and this is what I have now.
This is not a real professional recording because I don't have cubase and stuff, I just played the piece on my computer while recording the ogg file with an other program.
On my brand-spankin' new computer, I got PSO:Blue Burst Download Edition, and was disappointed when it lacked an offline mode...
I'm pretty sure you'd be asking what this has to do with Wesnoth...well, the music files for the game are in .ogg format, and since it's on my hard drive, why put it to...
here you are new music for the game and some explanations of the use I intend for it. You will find them at
to download, select the files, click on SCARICA and finally SALVA . You are done.
the new pieces are:
defeat__ending_adventures.ogg
land_of_incubus.ogg...
I made a possible loyalist victory track. It is purposefully only about 5 seconds, As people probably wouldn't want to listen to a long track anyway. I know I wouldn't. If this is meant to be put at the end of a successful campaign, perhaps I or someone else could come up with a 'credits' track for...
I was looking for music development guidelines into the forum/docs.
By reading up users/developers's thoughts about current music and
other proposals plus paying attention to my personal tastes and the
feeling of the game, I come up with those proposals:
Ok, i had this idea.
I was reading two days ago the thread in the Art section about the Dragons. Roel was suggesting heavy-metal music when the dragons appear. Why not, its not a bad idea...
Anyway, i was thinking about some music for the credits. I was thinking it could be fun having a touch of...
I feel that Battle for Wesnoth is a really great game, but I feel that the only place where it falls short is in the Music. The Graphics are awesome, the sound effects rocks, the game itself is a real hit (for me anyway), but the only place where I think could use a bit of work is in the music....
I've got the latest Mac version (0.8.2) and I don't seem to have a music playing when it's the Drakes' turn in multiplayer. Everyone else plays all fine, and I even see a wesnoth-6.ogg file there, which I assume is their music, but it doesn't play. When it's the Drakes' turn, it just keeps playing...
Right now it sounds kind of weird when heavy infantry, troll warriors, and such miss, and play a 'bonk' sound. I suggest that the fist-swish.wav be used when they miss.
Ok, here is a sample of the main theme. I want it to be pretty good for the LSM.
The theme has an intro, then it really starts. The work is in progress right now. I just wanted to give an overview. Parts are still empty and nothing is really mixed.
Currently, you can get a Lite version of Wesnoth without any music - handy for those on slower connections. Music is presently the bulkiest portion of Wesnoth, much bulkier than graphics or sound.
In this forum we've got a bunch of talented musicians creating some really cool music - in many cases...
We are still really lagging in the sound effects the game has. The horse canter greatly enhances a horseman's attack, and the grunting sounds good for lots of units, but we still need many more sounds:
- can someone please please try to get an angry growling sound for when a wolf rider is hit?...
