Several of our mainline campaigns are in the works for upgrades at the moment, which includes adding characters and enhancing existing scenarios. We are looking for more artwork to supplement these upgrades, including the following:
5 portraits
Female Captain (Mari)
Asheviere - 4 variations

I would like to contribute, but i'm not sure if my art style is... alike to general Wesnoth's. Is it ok? Should I try? Where to sign?)
I'd start by posting in the "Art Workshop" forum, and then if people think it's mainline-quality, you can move to the...
We are happy to announce that Wesnoth is now able to accept donations on Liberapay. While Wesnoth does rely on the work of dedicated volunteers, no project can function completely cost-free. Revenue from the Apple App Store and from donations goes towards maintaining our servers,...

It looks good at the bottom since the page isnt too long; i had no problem finding it.
There have been numerous important forum posts and wiki articles written by users and developers. We reference these pages a lot, and decided to put them together in a convenient list. ------
Write clearly, be nice to others, and be very careful when posting anything related to politics or religion. When asking for help, remember that everyone here is a volunteer. Prefer editing your previous post over double posting. No animated avatars or graphical signatures. Don’t plagiarize...

We have a lot of composers who are wanting to add music to Wesnoth, which we highly encourage. However, there are some minimum requirements for the quality of sounds needed in order for your submission to be regarded for mainline.
Please read the following carefully before submitting any music.
I want to make music for Wesnoth, what software do I need?
If you need to ask, you're not who we're looking for. As discouraging as that may sound, it's a practical issue. Learning how to use a DAW and getting good at computer-based...
On Wesnoth Discord channel I was greeted warmly when I offered to compose some new music for Wesnoth. Someone said there isn't enough undead music so I downloaded Musescore and got to work.
After a month of working on it, on and off, I have composed around 2 minutes that I'm quite...

Well this journey has reached its end.
The piece has been named "Undead Siege", and has been exported and passed to Dalas for inclusion in mainline.
Attached is the score PDF and a high quality mp3 render (forum won't fit nor allow FLAC).
Actually it was exactly one year ago when I start...
Time and again a certain question comes up here in the music forum: are there any good free orchestral samples? The answer to that is yes, but finding the gems amongst all the junk is no small task, not to mention that many great freebies have become unavailable over the years. To remedy that,...
Flags of Wesnoth is an original orchestral soundtrack composed for The Battle for Wesnoth main menu.
Blending moments of rising battle tension with passages of peace and harmony, the piece reflects both the struggles of war and the enduring spirit of the kingdoms of...

Well, I would say it's not bad, and it does seem like it would fit in amongst the Wesnoth soundtrack. I don't think it's suitable to replace the main title theme (the original one is too iconic to replace in my opinion – I'm sure there's a reason...
So it's been brought to my attention that Wesnoth needs more ambient, background, incidental kind of music.
Just experimenting right now.
Don't know specifically what the aim is here... this track is probably a little bit more ambient, experimental than other Wesnoth tracks. More...

The opening of Sombre immediately reminded me of one of the existing tracks (Love Theme possibly? Either that or Transience) but then it went in a totally different direction. Still, it does have a sorta similar kind of feel to Love Theme. I suppose that makes sense since it's the same composer…...
Hi my name is Ryan and I composed Music for BfW YEARSSSSSSS AGO. To my estimation it's been at least 15 years?
I was told that a lot of content has been added to the game since that time and I was curious if new music was needed or desired.
I wrote music for the Knalgan campaign and a theme...

There are some older topics which discuss ideas for new music. For example:
So after looking through the entire 17 pages of this forum, this is what I've come up with. Everything I didn't include I either somehow missed when looking through the threads (I clicked on every non-locked one). If you have one that was posted here that I don't have, please upload it to the...

As promised, the spreadsheet is here. Feel free to suggest corrections or modify it as you wish.
In my wesnoth tools, I offer a 'Sound Manager'.
link: https://github.com/nadhem000/Wesnoth-Toolkit-Hub
1. Download file as .zip,
2. un-zip it,
3. open 'Wesnoth Tools Hub',
4. open 'Sound_Manager.html' in a browser (tested perfectly on Chrome),
5. follow 'how to use' instructions.
Basically everything here is still a work in progress; I'd like to go back sometime and finish/ add accompaniment/ fix typos for previous posts, but there's no way I can get to all of them. Any help is welcome
Big thanks to skeptical_troll and Samonella (who made several of these) for helpin...

So, I have recently been doing a survey of UMC music, and I have found that there are a number of music tracks that have been copied between add-ons. Or, at least I'm assuming they're the same track; my methodology here was just searching by filename and assuming that any found were the same thing;...

I agree all resource add-ons should probably be hidden by default. Given the introduction of campaign-specific music to TDG, I think it would be nice to add Flight of the Drakes as a campaign-specific track for WoF.
So, some other projects already use AI, for instance, Baldur's Gate 2 EE (if anyone remembers that),
the crucible mod uses AI for NPC speeches rather than real human voice. Now AI generated voice
isn't quite as good as a real voice, granted, but I think for people who lack time - and skills -...

rule 2: "AI generated content of any kind is not currently allowed."
I'd like to support the Wesnoth project with some music.
Here is my first attempt for a music in medieval style.
It is a little bit like Age of Empires 1. Enjoy.
If you like it I'll try to make a wav, ogg or something.
I saw on a topic from a couple years ago that the devs were looking for some atmospheric music to break up the constant battle music. I was wondering if there were still needs in that department or if anything else was wanted/needed. Do any SFX need to be updated? Maybe more diverse sounds for...

Started on a theme for the Drakes
Nice! I remember finding a sprite that someone posted to these forums of a Drake Harpist a while back, which is odd, since none of the UMC drake-related tracks that I'm aware of feature harps:...
Yes, I probably should finalize the other two before I start yet another one, but we had our first snowfall a short while ago. I had this vivid picture of a heavy snowfall with a lonely person looking out the window.
History: It was uploaded in previous version and is used in my add-on Strange Legacy, but is not a requirement. The older version had some problems with the quality, so I highly improved the quality of the soundtracks, but also reduced the quality to 80% to get under...
I am your passionate player, as well as composer of music for images and films.

The use of bells in Rainfall and Fantasy Bells adds a whole new flavor to the game's sound, although the question then becomes whether it still feels like the same soundtrack or something completely different.
My favorites are Fantasy Bells and Landscapes. Fantasy Bells is wonderfully magical and...
I've got some time to compose some stuff, I previously composed a few of the tracks years ago, Casualties of War, Into the Shadows, Sad, I think one or two more.
I haven't been active in years because I've been busy but are we still looking for new musical content?
It used to be myself, West and Aleksi, Doug Kaufman, and a few other composers that were active. Is there still a music moderator, or a new one? I'm interested in contributing some new stuff, and I hear that 'ambient' music is more on the menu than anything else at the moment.

Hey, happy to hear your interest in making some new music!
Yes, I was hoping to get some more general purpose ambient tracks for the moment. Basically I wanted one of each of a sad, neutral, and lighter tone ambient track similar to hero's rite, nunc dimittis, and wanderer. At some point, it might...
Hi, not sure if this is the right board but I am stumped as to why the midi files in my campaign don't play (or are audible). I know the wml works because I subbed in a mainline ogg for one midi and the ogg played fine. I also know the midi files play when I access them from my OS (Linux).
I tried...

So, I've been playing this game for the last months. I enjoy it very much, mainly because campaign narratives have depth and maps are well designed, but also because of its music. Although I'm a skilled musician and music composer, ...

I've added it to the UMC Music Book 12 add-on, which is essentially one of a set of add-ons containing music from the forums.
seems to be somewhat out of date, with links to forum threads from over 10 years ago, and at least one dead link to a file. Can the "music people" update it? (Or - remove it if it's irrelevant?)

Yeah, it loads the default maps. Ignatus probably hasn't installed the mainline campaigns (some distros make this possible).
