I don't know how difficult this would be to code up, but how about a dopplegagner unit type? I envisage a fairly weak melee unit with a mimic ability. Whenever a doppleganger kills a unit, it acquires that units attacks, losing any current attacks, as well as the graphics associated with the dead...

I've been thinking about including barbarians in the game. Right now, I have ideas for 8 basic units, and some advancements. Since this is a quite big number, looks like they could be their own faction, the Barbarian Party :D . However, I want to know what people think about it. So:

What do you think about making the AI defend (or attack) some places like gates, forests, ... with strategical interest? Developers of BFW would design the AI interested on those zones, and it would be the map designer choice to signal a strategical zone for the AI.

There was somewhere another thread with the idea of storing non-default campaigns in the home-directory (~/.wesnoth/).
If this is implemented, an easy-to-use campaign installer (real simple ...) which extracts a .tgz-file and copies it to the wesnoth-user-directory would make campaign-installation...
I was thinking, since some musics are short and maybe repetitive after a while, why not implement a track player in the game? It would give the possibility to each individual to listen to whatever song he wants and make playlists. Sounds good? :roll: Is it possible to add?

I have an idea for a new kind of attack special ability: freezing. This would be appropriate for some 'cold' attacks. Its effect would be to make the target immobile for a turn, unable to attack, move, or emit a ZoC.
However, if a frozen unit is attacked and hit, its freezing ends immediately....
I think it would be cool to have units that could lay traps... for example a orcish pit digger . This unit could dig a pit in the ground that would be invisible to enemies. Many times when combat evolves, my units get surrounded by many enemies, thereby restricting their movement. When I wish two units to exchange places, I have to move one unit to a free hex, then the other unit steps into place where first unit was, and finally the first unit get where to other was....
I think the chat text should have the same alpha transparent background that tool tip text gets. The reason being it is very hard to read the white text sometimes against light backgrounds, especially in the day.
Why does the enemy leader sleep all time?
I mean, after move 1 (when The Boss goes capturing the nearest village) the enemy leader sits and waits for our armies to storm the keep.
Is there a reason for keeping the (usually) strongest unit at bay?

I'd like to see 'Random' in the Race selection menu, should be an easy addition.. I don't like to know who my computer-foes are, amongst being able to randomly select my own race when I don't know whom to choose.
