Re: Download count being an implicit ranking system
It seems like the sentiment in this thread leans towards going back to the practice of wiping the dev server at the beta stage, as well as deleting broken add-ons. I'm not for this. Although the thought may be that those who don't stick around until the dev branch hits beta aren't serious, there is ...

Re: [UMC] Campaign idea focusing on asymmetrical warfare
One of Bob the Mighty's old (1.4) multiplayer scenarios, "A Nation Betrayed", claims to feature "a special village-loyalty system, allowing players to generate funds and swing the support of the townships in their favour" as insurgents rise up against their king.

Re: NR Portraits
Like most everyone here, I really like your Elenia. And we still have her sister to look forward to... :wink: As for Rakshas, he looks good in and of himself, but he doesn't seem to resemble the other Wesnoth-style orcs. I also wonder if maybe his portrait could bust the 400px standard, as he is the...

Re: Download count being an implicit ranking system
A short list with the number of addon items per Wesnoth version. 1.4 225 1.6 229 1.8 393 1.10 453 1.12 124 As suspected, the count is still going up, maybe with a local peek in the near future, caused by editor improvements. No idea how to explain the stagnation between 1.4 and 1.6. Maybe the 1.4 s...

Re: The problems I have with Wesnoth
Check out the game from SVN Is it a good idea to still be pushing svn, considering how apparently imminent the switch to git is? And that was after I had a history of being a forum troll who was so idiotic as to tell zookeeper that if I ran the forums, I would ban him. Since we seem to be taking a ...

Re: Revising the HttT Text & Dialogue
I mean, I can understand how Delfador killing her firstborn pisses her to no end and how she will strive to put her surviving children on the throne, but why kill the princes ? For all I know, they are also her children and the legitimate heirs. What need is there to have them killed? It's already ...

Re: Hardest campaigns?
I consider Legend of Wesmere to be the most consistently difficult campaign. Other campaigns have tough scenarios, but are not as hard overall, in my judgment. However, my impression may in part be due to playing it when I had less experience than I did when I played Expert campaigns later, due to L...

Re: wmllint++ - wmllint improved!
My first two patches have been up a couple of days, simple ones to "test the waters." I'm afraid of messing up the line numbers if I go any further, however. Maybe I just haven't figured out the Subversion way, but from what I can tell, you can't easily make a set of patches reflecting mul...

Re: wmllint tutorial
As long as we're talking about wmllint Windows problems, I'll note that my patch #3751 deals with Windows refusing to let a rename overwrite an existing file, which blocks wmllint from reverting, or converting a second time when there is a previous cfg-bak.

Re: Second Wesnothian Civil War + Kalenz' fate
Hi folks! I am planning on making a campaign placed at Wesnoth (since my other one doesn't), and I'm thinking about telling of the Second Wesnothian Civil War, which, according to the wiki, happens after Konrad II's death, but I have a few questions: first and most importantly, does any campaign al...

Re: List of Unported UMC (October 2012)
I've ported the first few scenarios of Autumn Kingdoms: Prologue. ... Instances of << and >> have been removed from all scenarios up to the "Purge". I point to your effort in the comments, but until something is uploaded to the add-ons server, it remains listed. When I'm aware of some eff...

Re: wmllint++ - wmllint improved!
I've come out of the weekend with a new version. Just one new feature, but I've made wmllint++ speedier. The new feature: converting "~add-ons" in textdomain/binary paths to "data/add-ons". It's not one of the most common mistakes, but there was that in_textdomain and in_binary_p...

Re: Cant see specific add ons- Maps/Scenarios in create menu
Fixed it, did fresh install and selected "install saves and other data in the install directory" instead of the "install personalized data in documents directory" option. If that "fixed" the problem, it may be that the add-on was using "userdata/" in its path...

Re: add-ons
Hi! I have a big problem. When i download an "add-on campaign", I install it, and I start the new campaign, it runs, but the pictures of units aren't there. (The pictures of the new units, the basic units, what there were in the game, is visible.) There is the circle, and the HP stripe, b...
