Re: Happy skeletons in water with a bridge!

Reminds me of a german ... uhm ... sexy story that became a meme back in the days. "aber warum„liegt hier überhaupt Stroh? - Und warum hast du eine Maske auf?" I can't continue this meme here (and I am sorry if it is in german ... it is a pseudo-discussion where one expresses being surpri...

Re: A grand design for singleplayer mainline lore

Since my name occasionally came up in the discussion and I never commented on my initial concerns again, I'd like to chime in once more. I was quite confused when I just looked it up and realized that this thread started almost a month ago. Which kind of serves to illustrate nemaara's point - if a p...

Re: Optimization Discussion - Legend of the Invincibles

I disagree about Dugi's gear in part 2. It's not that hard to get enough black pearls if you smash a bunch of gems and gear. Last time I played part two, I crafted my first Dugi's Ward in chapter 8. Of course you are theoretically able to craft at least the wards, but I always craft multiple Marrow...

Re: Optimization Discussion - Legend of the Invincibles

In the first post of the LotI thread, you can find links to a number of resources (e.g., available items). You can also find a link to this page, where some people eternalized some of their coolest units. Note that because of changes and nerfs some (or all) of these units might not be build-able lik...

Re: Reworking/Revising The Sceptre of Fire

If you're planning on adding RPG elements, I think they should be small, difficult to use, and fit in with the lore. A unit that can make adjacent units move faster would be a bit much imo. How about making it so that Runesmiths can set up runes that give special abilities? It would make sense lore...

Re: How is the Kingdom of Wesnoth organised?

Blackwater Port from Heir to the Throne is located on the west coast of Wesnoth, not far from the Bay of Pearls where Prince Haldric first landed. Interestingly, it is run by Sir Kaylan, 'one of the mightiest of the horse lords'. This seems a bit of a contradiction, considering we know (from Test o...

Re: The case against the Dwarvish Steelclad/Lord

So what could be done? The simplest and probably best solution in my opinion is to take away the resistances. They get +10% to blade at level 3, so that means they have the best defense against that damage type. If lore demands that they wear heavier armor, then keep the blade bonus, give them +10 ...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

Also I am thinking about legacy of freezing north (iceberg), I find it quite boring, and somehow I have a feeling it is the one legacy mostly meele oriented (the others are more useable for everyone. Yep, I think the freezing north's legacy are most useful for Scythemasters. Because they have whirl...

Re: About add-on campaign Nightfall

I think there was a work in progress version uploaded at some point, but it was never finished and Kwandulin took it down intentionally from the addon server. I thought I had a version of that at some point, but I can't find it. No idea if Kwandulin will ever come back, but I think he dropped Nightf...

Re: Top Best UMC campaigns

I think my favourite ones are still the two arabian nights - first the one with the flying carpet unit; but the other one where you have hero units is pretty cool too ... there are also djinni in that one. There is also some epic-long one with about 200 scenarios? Or something like that. It is quit...

Re: Carved in Stone 0.8.0 [SP Dwarven Campaign for 1.13]

Here is my replay of the scenario, perhaps it helps to give you some ideas!? To beat this scenario you certainly need to abuse some hero advancements as well as the bear riders knockback ability (to avoid getting bogged down), I don't think this is manageable otherwise. Even given that, I think it t...

Re: Heroes

That is really the best scenario I've ever played in Wesnoth. Bro, keep doing scenarios with dwarfish heroes, or even a compaign. They are the greatest! You might want to check out Carved in Stone, a dwarf campaign by Kwandulin... ;-) (he also made Ashen Hearts and Oath of Allegiance) ((although I ...

Re: Delfador in HttT should be lvl 4 instead of 5, and Yeti should be lvl 5 instead of just 4

Yeti would need to have ranged attack to be level 5, otherwise being source of too free xp. I know theoretically ranged units can grind 5xp each time they shoot the Yeti, but wouldn't there always be a threat of 32 damage that can potentially one-shot the shooting unit? That would still make it a b...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

[...] That sounds more like an incompatibility between versions than a bug, but would still mean that you can't salvage your old saves for the new version. Depending on the scale of changes, someone might be able to manually alter your save files to bring them up to snuff, but I have no idea how mu...
