Re: MuseScore for UMC music composing
I may be mistaken about some facts, but the main point still stands: more people can use a notation editor than a DAW. You say this like it's a universal truth. :) What do you base this on? And what is your experience with DAW's? Not trying to pick a fight or anything, I'm just curious. There are f...

Re: MuseScore for UMC music composing
I believe there're some people here who can't produce anything with a whatever supermodern DAW, but might be able to occasionally create something acceptable with a simpler program. Apples and oranges, my friend. A DAW and a score editor are two completely different types of programs, and the diffe...

Re: About the new sample requirements
I thought about this myself but it appears Tyler has removed the samples from his site (which I have no objections against -- it's his site and he was very kind to host the stuff as long as he did) so linking isn't possible anymore. I'll see what I can do, maybe I can host it myself somehow, if ther...

About the new sample requirements
I'm not sure how to interpret the new sample requirements. Don't bother unless you have EW, NI or VSL, or what?

Re: full music scores
That's right. I perform and record everything with midi controllers, actual notation never even comes into the equation.Alarantalara wrote:West claims not to read music, so anything by him probably has no score.

Re: Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra -- CC-licensed sample libra
Due to a mishap with the domain registration (I missed that it was time to renew it, now it has expired and can't be registered again for up to 90 days) the SSO site can now be found at sso.mattiaswestlund.net. So please update your bookmarks and thanks for your patience.

Re: Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra -- CC-licensed sample libra
Hello West, Thank you for your work on SSO. I think http://sso.mattiaswestlund.com/ appears to be down at the moment. Anyone following it who can't get to the website may want to know when you bring it back online. Yup, it's down for the time being but should be back up later today or sometime tomo...

Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra -- CC-licensed sample library
Those who have been members of this forum for a while might recall that a few years ago I was working on a small orchestral sample library in soundfont format called Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra. I was never really happy with the way it was turning out, and the final blow was learning that a lot of ...

Re: Where are the Music Lords??
Due to personal matters and commitments in other projects I won't have time to work on anything Wesnoth-related within the forseeable future. Maybe I'll be back, maybe not. I simply don't know. I notified the other admins about this a while back, but I didn't want to announce it publicly. Still, may...

Re: SampleTank FREE
I was going to post something about this but you beat me to it. And yes, this is a nice freebie.
A little tip: anyone who wants to try this out, download the sound packs for the Miroslav Philharmonik demo too. There's some additional instruments in there and they work fine with ST Free.

Re: Free Orchestral Soundfonts
I just added freesf2 to http://wiki.wesnoth.org/Tools_for_Creating_Music along with an updated link to G-Town (which is now hosted on legaltorrents) and removed a slew of dead links. It should be mentioned that the original version of the G-Town samples are in gigastudio format, whereas the ones on...

That's interesting, seeing as how that is the very topic of this thread.Arc wrote:This is the first I've seen mention of http://freesf2.com
