Re: Binary patches for Windows [poll]
Is there or are there plans for a similar application for the development line (i.e. 1.9.x)? Indeed, there are. However, due to the quick changing nature of the development line, it was decided to provide incremental patches instead of all-inclusive ones. That means that they are essentially the sa...

Re: Customisable MP Eras? (Mix and Match rules.)
I think I can safely say that your idea as it stands is completely unrealistic and won't ever happen. Let me list some of the reasons below: to say that it creates a dependency hell is an understatement, network code used for determining if player has all the necessary components (and if they are th...

Re: Stuck on "The Founding of Borstep" 3rd mission
Ah, this scenario. I remember loving it, since you can't really lose units here thanks to the undead resurrection (and wraiths and shadows are simply awesome :D ) I attached a replay which was played starting from your save. I did get sloppy in the end, taking some unnecessary risks, but since it is...

Re: Stuck on "The Founding of Borstep" 3rd mission
Tip: If you included a savegame/replay (and stated on which wesnoth version are you playing), it would be easier to get useful feedback, especially since the campaign isn't a mainline one.

Re: Binary patches for Windows
I tried it out to move from 1.8.4 to 1.8.5 and wound up with a spare copy of northerners.ogg (the one changed music file) in data/core/macros (instead of data/core/music). Seems likely the patcher put it in the wrong place. This is really weird. Since the paths of changed files are generated by an ...

Re: Please send me Wesnothd.exe File
Since you seem to be playing on Windows, you may use my the experimental autopatcher if nobody helps you. It is much smaller than normal wesnoth download and AFAIR contains both up-to-date wesnoth.exe and wesnothd.exe files. Be sure to read my post in that topic before applying it blindly, though. I...

AuroraBorealis (and all who are using stable, but not latest version):
Would you update your version more eagerly if there were a small automatic patch to download?

Binary patches for Windows [poll]
As you may have noticed , there are currently no automatic patch installers for Windows releases. This is unlike most commercial games out there, which provide patches in such convenient form (or ship with auto-updaters). Since I wanted to learn an install script language (NSIS) anyway, I decided I ...

Re: Surrender option
(...) I think that surrendering is an act that determines a winner, and that you surrender to a single force (I mean in a 1-1-1 game a player cannot surrender to other two players). Therefore I suggest to use a term ABDICATE (or a similar one) in place of SURRENDER. SURRENDER might be a concrete in...

Re: Who is playing on dev server?
For the record, I have latest development version always installed as well and I'm eager to play 1v1s, 2v2s and FFAs as well (grrr's strategy guide did a good job convincing me it's worth trying out :-) ). The easiest and quickest way to set up a game would probably be to jump on #wesnoth IRC channe...

Re: Bold New Maps (Updated with the crazy new Hornshark!)
In my opinion the units could use some team coloring, it would help to better recognize who is fighting against whom.
What struck me - why the dwarves are protecting the three elvish ladies? Did dwarf-elven relations get a bit warmer recently without me noticing ?

Velensk: maybe try using another browser or enabling scripts, if you have them disabled? On this site under Firefox I see two possible choices in "Category" field: "Bug" and "Feature Request". Another possibility is that you made it in time for gna.org hiccup, so reload...

Re: New [scenario_metadata] plans - volunteers needed
Thank you for assistance in the hard task of trying to explain my ideas (and for careful optimism), Anonymissimus. :-) I should definitely test colliding namespaces and their handling. Added to my testcases list. doofus-01: [parameters], as currently planned, is a tool for a WML author to make their...

Re: New [scenario_metadata] plans - volunteers needed
Thanks for your feedback! Now replies, in order: I have two comments/questions (and sorry if I overlooked something): 1. Once support for current [campaign] WML is dropped, the bare minimum revisions needed for SP campaigns would be to add a [scenario_metadata] block to the top of each scenario? Tha...

Surrender option
Some of you may have been lacking the Surrender/Resign option for some reason. Especially those of you who would like to nicely mark their resignation (instead of saying "gg" and/or leaving) to leave their opponent with satisfying "You are victorious!" - instead of seeing a borin...
