Re: I know someone will say it's easy... Siege of Elensefar.

Siege of Elensefar was always a big step up in difficulty from previous scenarios, I believe all players appreciate this. A few things that may help you or other readers in trouble with the siege are: 1) do not throw away your free loyals, they are as you say indeed useless without support and you g...

Re: How to play a mostly-lawful force with a single Undead u

Unless it is an ancient lich in a lawful army, play the army as a lawful one with one unit that retaliates harder at night.

Re: Main menu background

Why would you need something in options, with dev time spent on it (menus, selection, buttons), when you can easily change it locally already? As an added benefit Wesnoth has not to bother w/ licenses that way and you can put in whatever you fancy. (I concede it would be a good idea in principle, ma...

Re: Main menu background

Will we change main menu background from what we have to something ''better'' in 1.14 or any version? It should not be hard to change the title screen on your local copy. Literally just two picture files to mess with, it is about as complicated as setting a new desktop background. wesnoth_screen.png

Re: Bitron's Art Thread

I hope you do not expect too much in terms of helpful replies for redraws. I like the texture on the shirt, the belt on the original was good and is missing here. All the TC-underwear will not be very visible when it isn't magenta but blue, black, green etc. in the game. Personally, I really like th...

Re: Nenau's sprites, needing advice

I would look at them in front of a background as well, sometimes things look odd with the dark outline contrasting to white, which wouldn't in context. An easy point for improvement is the right shoulder of the spearman (which currently isn't really there), and the attached arm as well unless it is ...

Re: Do you save and reload? If so, why?

What are you talking about? There simply are no hidden modifiers in normal gameplay, the transparency about numbers and their meaning is one of the major advantages over many games that show you numbers, but not what is computed with them. The game even gives you comprehensive statistics and the ove...

Re: Vilkai Art Thread

I don't understand why you completely changed the direction of the head just for putting on the wolf head, as is the wolf headed guy looks like standing on guard, while the one without headgear looks like leading troops (looking SE and showing the direction with the spear). Regarding your discussion...

Re: [mainline] Reorder campaign dialog

I kept interest in Battle for Wesnoth because I had to restart HttT from start to get past Elensefar and realised that it is more than your usual click-through-to-win "strategy" game, that is good only for a weekend. If I would mess with the campaign order, I would ship each major release ...

Re: Sprite Assistance

(I made some sprites of varying quality seen here on the forum. Trying to be helpful.) I added you a comparison to a L3 unit and a scale. Some units look like seen at a slight angle from above (and in my opinion others don't look like that at all), but all share somewhat odd, not exactly realistic p...

Re: Are humans overfeatured?

There already are like four drake campaigns, there is at least one saurian campaign, and with return of the monster there is even a naga-centric campaign. They may have their flaws, but they are there.

Re: Dabbling in sprites

I avoided more lines, because I end up limited to straight lines then with very little chance to vary. This is somewhat of a problem on the head, I wanted to show the ears, which are quite prominent on a zebra, but drawing more pattern on the head messes this up. Worked a bit on the right front leg,...
