Re: Questions Regarding Dwarven Lore
Regarding only mainline, the answer is no to both questions. I can't talk about UMC though.

Re: People of the Green Isle
I think so too. The Islefolk's background seems consistent and fixed. When will we start working on the Southern Continent?

Re: People of the Green Isle
I see, I didn't understand johndh correctly...
revansurik's explanation makes sense to me. Stories geht preserved and change. So a few generations after the eimigration the South would be inhabited by giants, cannibals and other horrible people in the stories of the Islefolk.

Re: People of the Green Isle
The problem here is that if Washraha isn't the iron-fisted dominator of the coast, then what is keeping Haldric et al. from fleeing south instead of east? If the fishermen who later emigrated to the Green Isle lived at the northern coast of the Southern Continent and the Washraha lived south of the...

Re: You've been playing Wesnoth too long when...
... you get home from a party, it's 4 am and despite you are drunk and need some rest you start playing BfW and you beat ATotB without recruiting and without losing a singel unit.

I found this quote here

Re: People of the Green Isle
My concept of them has always included sailing and naval raids to be central to their identity. That's why everyone along the coast is afraid of them and many are trying to get away, and why anyone in the south knows about the Green Isle. I'm not sure how any of this is supposed to work if they're ...

Re: People of the Green Isle
This all sounds good to me. It gives reasonable explanations, allows us to introduce dark-skinned people in the game and opens an entire continent to be filled with peoples and history. Great! If I am not mistaken, we still need to figure out, how the Wesfolk eventually learned about the existence o...

Re: 1.10 and 1.11 SP Campaign - Bad Moon Rising
Hi, I started playing BMR yesterday and now I'm at the sceario where Huric attacks Fort Kuhle. The Ukians are a cool faction to play and the World Map is a nice feature. I'm only wondering: the War Hound is said to have a fire attack with the torch, but I only have the option to have them attack wit...

Re: People of the Green Isle
If I understood johndh correctly, the Chomi aren't the people that merged with the Aeserians. They are a nomadic culture, travelling around and selling goods and providing for cultural exchange among the various ethnics. Thus they are not strong in a military way, neither would they be an attractive...

Re: People of the Green Isle
That could work. Perhaps it's not a universal thing for everybody (or every young man), but perhaps for members of a warrior caste. Sailing would also be an honorable occupation. The idea with the warrior caste sounds good to me. I'm just wondering why the coastal tribes would sail to ohter lands w...

Re: People of the Green Isle
The Washraha could be a culture that greatly valued warfare; their raids on the neighbouring peoples could be like a training for the Washraha warriors, or a test for young Washraha to prove their mettle in combat. That's kind of what the Spartans did to the Pelasgian farmers of the Peloponnese. Wo...

Re: People of the Green Isle
Although we're not being racist about it, people can misunderstand and get outraged about the wrong thing sometimes. I'm also concerned that any campaign creator who includes a "token black character" would probably make him an escaped slave, and all the tropes would come with it. Yeah, t...

Re: People of the Green Isle
Originally, I had only conceived of it being one nation, but this makes more sense now that I know it was one nation among many surrounding smaller cultures. Thus, the southerners who moved to the island would be a mix of Washrahan people fleeing the oppressive regime and those from the surrounding...

Re: People of the Green Isle
I think it should be written as "Humans inhabit two continents beyond the Great Ocean"; saying that they come from the south could cause some confusion, since it would sound like they come from the south of the Great Continent. I agree on that. Haldric's people are a mix of Westerners and...
