Day cycle/Morale
Notification bump... the completion of the campaign has been slower than expected, mostly for the reason that whenever I write down a good idea, I seem to immediately come up with two new ones. :) Currently it seems so that I'm dropping the elk hunting scenario as "too similar", and possib...

Another idea: At this point of development, all gameplay-related ideas should be considered UMC only, without explicitly saying so. We will still need a place to do free brainstorming, and this is exactly the place for it. What would be required: What is essential to brainstorming is the lack of cri...

Eastern Invasion 1.1.7 bug
Hello!
This has probably already been adressed, but I'll post this anyway, just in case.
When I'm starting Scenario 15 of Eastern Invasion (The council) on 1.1.7, the game dies, complaining "Unknown unit type: Lord".
Forgot to change Konrad II to a General as he was in previous scenario?

(1) Medium, 1.1.7. (2) Too easy (1) (3) Very clear (at least, on the second time) (4) Same as before (5) Now that I actually the sense to recruit a huge amount of expendable spearmen as my rear guard, losses were minimal (my front guard got through almost unopposed, only one quick Shock Trooper was ...

Ultimately, whether there's any merit in fundraising for the Wesnoth Project boils down to; what would it use the money for? And that decision needs to be made before any questions of how to raise the money are considered. Well, this is pretty simple, since there is only one way consistent with the...

Scenario 3: This should be explained by some internal power struggle in the other clan, since the game does not allow partial alliances - this basically means that the enemy clan will split in two, and the two parts, since originally near each other, will be mostly on each other's throats. Maybe th...

(1) Medium, 1.1.7 (2) Very easy (1) if you don't care about losses (3) Very clear, though I was not sure if I got to keep units on the other side (or on the bridge!) if I blow up the bridge. (4) Adequate, bonus for not having megaphones this time :) (5) The trolls in front of me didn't really offer ...

Great! Thanks for the ideas and art! Due to public demand, I'll make bears a recruitable part of the faction. The controlling trinket will most probably be a kantele , a Finnish harp-like instrument, made of bear bones, and it will be available from halfway through the campaign (Lost in the forest)....

Actually, tournaments or leagues with a reasonable, small entrance fee is not a bad idea at all in general. The reasons are obvious: * Less quitters, since quitting means forfeiting your entrance fee. * Better possibility for moderation * Fame, glory and monetary gains for the winner. :) * I probabl...

There are a approximately million unfinished campaigns whose owner has left and is possibly never coming back. If you don't have a clear campaign idea of your own, I suggest browsing through older threads of this forum and taking over one of those campaigns. You can even benefit of something that's ...

Morale
OK, let's take one step further, and introduce the Morale effect. This is not an idea for generic gameplay, but rather a defining idea that can be a basis of a special campaign or mod. All factions (or possibly just the player faction) have Morale, which is a global variable in some range (for excep...
