Re: Converting some old Macros for v1.6
No, it won't. You're most likely just including your macros after your scenarios or something. Can't say because you haven't shown what you have. You were right. It seems the problem is that the game is not reading my macro .cfgs at all. I've checked the macros and they're embedded inside the [scen...

Re: Converting some old Macros for v1.6
Thanks for explaining the {GUARDIAN} tag to me. I tried it and it worked perfectly. I just looked through my stderr.txt file and it's coming up empty. I think that the game is simply not reading any macros in my campaign folder. I tried verfiying this by having some of my unique units die. I had wri...

Re: Converting some old Macros for v1.6
Are you sure that the RECALL ALL macro still exists? A quick look at the reference page will let you know the macros in the game. Hi Turuk, thanks for the reply. The RECALL ALL macro no longer exists as an official macro. I still have a copy of the old macro file in my campaign folder. Thanks for r...

Converting some old Macros for v1.6
Hi everyone. I was working on a campaign back when Wesnoth was on version 1.3.x. I've been trying to complete it recently but I've been running into some problems with the new 1.6 version not being able to recognize some of the macros that I used in the campaign. The two macros that I am having the ...

Re: Mix and Conquer!
Dubiously implied social messages aside, haven't we seen this kind of plot before? You know, the one where the evil undead power mad lord of dOOOOm rises to bring dOOOOm to all the lands, and is repulsed by an alliance of the US, UK, and Russia... err, I mean dwarves, elves and humans. Nevermind the...

Re: Of different approaches to scenario design
So...do you recognize yourself as belonging to this other group of gamers who don't mind a game seemingly unfairly screwing them over, and for whom the fun of playing games (or only some kinds of games?) comes more from treating the game as a challenge and then overcoming it, rather than from the e...

Re: Re:
4. I never dismiss units unless the gold saved recruiting a new one would be over six or seven. Mainly because you never know when the campaign author will stop you from being able to recruit that kind of unit. Personally I would generally call this poor campaign design. :) Unless something is done...

Re: Gena's map making service
Hey Gena, I've finished editing the Cathedral map you sent me, it was great by the way.
Would you mind if I sent it back to you for some comments?

Re: Any Help anyone?
I'm actually a bit hestitant to ask you for more maps, since you work so quickly. It would be nice to have a number of maps ready but I haven't coded the scenarios for them yet so I don't want it to seem like a wasted effort asking you to make a bunch of maps that I might not use right away. The map...

Re: Any Help anyone?
Hey wow, I'm really impressed with what you did with the map! And so quickly as well! You got the map down almost exactly how I pictured it. I forgot to mention that I wanted the map to be village light but you got that down pat as well. I'll probably have to make a few adjustments for playa...

Re: Any Help anyone?
I'm currently looking for a medium sized map about 40 * 25 in dimension. It'll be mostly (tropical) forest and hills, and a small river through the middle, with more forest on the right and more hills on the left. The player starts on the right and there should be a lot of open space in the middle. ...

Re: Any Help anyone?
I like the look of your maps. They have an aesthetic appeal to them that many maps tend to lack. I do have a question/comment about your underground maps though. With all the thin and narrow passages, isn't that an excessive amount of chokepoints? It would really grind a battle to a halt if units ha...

Re: Campaign: Autumn Kingdoms - Prologue (V.0.1.4)
After nearly a month's hiatus, I've finally made enough changes for another small release. I did not add any scenarios this time around. I've made a few changes to the dialogue in the later scenarios, mostly editing issues that slipped by the first time around, and more importantly, I've added unit ...

Re: The Empire of Sol (Era)
Hey X-Codes, I like what you've done so far, but I'd like to offer a few suggestions and requests on worldbuilding, you can take them or leave them as you will. :) First of all, I understand that you want to create a setting that is not Wesnoth, and I've seen people stumble on this point before, but...

Re: Worlds other than Wesnoth?
I wouldn't mind seeing a D and D campaign/world/scenerios made. Could make a war of the lance type setting or scenerios from Dragonlance, or even a Battle for Helm's Deep scenerio from The Lord of the Rings. Could even go as far as making the entire storyline to the War of the Lance, or the Lord of...
