Re: "The Long March" in the South Guard Campaign

Here's the rebalanced scenario I committed for the next release. It fixes most of the issues with this scenario, although it might still be harder than the previous ones (which I haven't played in a while for comparison). Please unpack this to data/campaigns/The_South_Guard/scenarios and data/campai...

Re: Wesnoth-Like icons for the Forums

C'mon, it's your problem if you don't use a team-color capable browser ... :annoyed: :P Seriously, the color isn't pink, but since the image uses a gradient to white it mostly appears that way (the previous color was peach and not orange for the same reason). Replacing that with a different gradient...

Re: An Unnatural Winter (MP Campaign)

Hi nelson, Thanks for your appreciation. :) The second scenario is a completely bugged, work-in-process mess that I am going to continue working on soon (I keep telling myself that for the last year or so, so it must be right ). I plan to concentrate on finishing this for 1.5, now that we have...

Re: Wesnoth-Like icons for the Forums

Hi Prophet, Sorry I didn't look at this earlier... I was "away from wesnoth" for over a week. I like your ideas and icons. I just think that: 1. the colors of the scrolls won't work well with the background 2. the green orbs + green poison is confusing I think the problem is that our item ...

Re: Forum Upgrade

The forum posts are on a considerably darker color (with the wiki bg color sitting there with no text on it), and IMO it makes the text hard to read. [...] Anyone else agree with this assessment? I agree. I made the new theme yesterday, and when I saw it online with more than just a few test posts ...

I just did a dry run of this to see what you made, and it's nicely done! :) I like that you try to explore and showcase some of the possibilities of adjustments from scenario to scenario - ranging from having the player cooperate (rather unwillingly) to giving them different starting positions etc d...

Re: Trouble with the [if]

Short suggestion in the beggining, you're developing really ugly and hard to read style of WML. Please explain... :?: I know I am sometimes accused of similar crimes , but IMO this {VARIABLE unit_to_modify[$iterator].side 3} isn't better or worse in terms of readability or beauty than [set...

Well, since you know you're going to want to catch the messenger, and that he wants to reach the north edge, you should start sending scouts and quick archers NE. I don't see how you can fail to catch him then. :)

If you still have problems with this, attach a replay that people can comment on.

Thanks, Doc, for the thumbs up. I can only wonder what minion of yours was watching ;). Karo, thanks for the test! There are OOS errors when playing with two or more players (either substituted or assigned at the beginning). The OOS errors were mainly position errors. At the beginning of scenario tw...

Do you refer something like this? Huh. I can't see a difference here from before? I meant this: [message] speaker=Ryan message= _ "What?" [/message] [message] speaker=Ryan message= _ "Argh! What happens to my body?" [/message] [message] speaker=Deven message= _ "It's the ef...

Don't make this guy a leader, then. Or make sure the side has absolutely no gold.

Really, leaders do strange things - they always run towards a keep if they can recruit. That nearest keep location probably defaults to 0,0 or 1,1 if it can't find any. ;)

Umm, I always saw this as a marble sculpture - you kind of just blew that impression for me with one sentence.

My guess is that it's because the [kill] action is a direct action. See it this way, the game continues as soon as the message is displayed. That means the [kill] happens when the player is not looking (it's not waiting for the dialog to close). Move the [kill] one dialog back (after the "Deven...

Multiplayer Campaigns in 1.4 (Test)

Here's a campaign to test the MP campaign capabilities of the releases heading for 1.4. It's designed a tool to find and root out remain bugs, and ensure they don't crop up again. It's a complete, four scenario campaign based loosely around a story of developers fighting bugs, so, yeah, it's full of...
