Re: Converting some old Macros for v1.6
The including order. You have <scenarios> <units> <macros> Scenarios use symbols from macros and unit types not defined at the time they are read, so they are ignored. Try <macros> <units> <scenarios> Should be much better. And there's no need to include images folder, these are read autamaticaly fr...

Re: problems with sound source
2) Slightly less critical (it's more of a nuisance, really) the fire sound plays at full strength no matter which part of the map the screen is viewing. I think this has something to do with my location filter; it seems that for some reason, the sound source is attaching to every hex on the map, in...

Right after quick look into unit-utils.cfg : 1) GUARDIAN usage <Unit macro> <guardian> So in your case : {NAMED_LOYAL_UNIT 2 (Spearman) 16 25 (Leeroy Jenkins) ( _ "Leeroy Jenkins")} {GUARDIAN} The definition of {GUARDIAN} is #define GUARDIAN # Meant to be used as a suffix to a unit-generat...

Re: Wesnoth crashes every few turns.
-- Wierd, normally I always check stickies. I did read / search older posts to see if it was a repeat, and it was new info. For me, it was the title of the post that was misleading about content, should be something like " read before posting errors " or similar would have guaranteed a re...

Re: Spirit possession - combining the Poison and Plague specials
You want to have a look at : events inside unit_type definitions attacker_hits and defender_hits events to trigger the consequences above two should set a flag inside [variables] section of the unit to avoid stacking the special and following events filtering on unit id side_turn event to simulate (...

Re: Campaign changes not being noted
You're sure that your computer doesn't have any sort of file backup system like virtual store on Vista? I know you're on a Mac, and it's a wild guess but that's only thing that could actualy fit the problem - Your OS is hiding original files from you, and you're working with the virtual copies.

I'd guess it has something to do with these in all your [print] tags
Result of having a translation mark without quotes is somewhat undefined and hard to predict

Re: The game wont start anymore.
Your saves or one of your add-ons are broken and that corrupts your cache each time you run the game. Remove all userdata both from the wesnoth folder and Vistas virtual store (C/users/(my user)/appdata/local/virtualstore/program files/).

Re: Campaign + Scenario + Map Issue - Game crashes
The map lacks starting positions for sides. And remove the undefined id= key from [sides] declaration (it's 1.5.x and upwards only)

Re: Wesnoth.exe has stopped working - crash on startup
Well, four options with ascending severity : -DEP is stil preventing wesnoth from running properly, switch it to protect essential windows programs and services only (or run wesnoth with admin priviledges) -Your firewall/av prevents wesnoth from operating properly (unlikely) -Your OS is corrupt -You...

Re: Wesnoth.exe has stopped working - crash on startup
Game crashes while initialising sound, which means your drivers are either faulty or non compatible with SDL (which also makes them seriously broken).
Try running the game with switches. If it doesn't help there's nothing we can do.
Try running the game with
Code: Select all
--nosound --nomusic

Re: cannot find scenario
to SkyOne: I have the objectives tag in the start event, and it works fine in game. Would changing its location make it faster? better? Also I want to make sure that the dialogue appears before the objectives. Doesn't matter. All prestart, start and preload events are executed before objectives are...

Re: Wesnoth.exe has stopped working - crash on startup
Yes, it's only because the file doesn't exist yet. Run wesnoth with --log-debug=all switch, paste the contents of stderr.txt to http://www.pastebin.ca and post a link.
