Re: Scenario Review: Liberty 8 - Glory

(1) Hard, 1.8.5 (2) 4. And I didn't even have that much gold, though I did have Helicorm with me. Honestly this was probably too easy for a final scenario. (3) At first I thought I was supposed to kill the leader, but i took a proper look at the objectives and the map and I understood (4) Not bad bu...

Re: Scenario 9: The Valley of Death

@WanderingHero Cavalry are actually very useful in achieving victory here. Note the holy water. Yeah I eventually beat this when I killed one of the Liches with my Great Knight, which meant less undead, which meant I could actually hold out (after a few sacrifices...). Still an epic pain in the ass...

Re: [New Campaign Idea] "A Tale Of Magic"

Your campaign seems interesting, and your English decent enough, but what bothers me is... why is magic being put in the hands of everyman a bad thing exactly?

Even if some people aren't as gifted with it

(1) Normal 1.9.6 (2) Just getting to the signpost? 2, your really only going to die from carelessness or exp greed. Getting to the sign post and farming some exp? 3, Again your only going to die from carelessness. Killing the Dwarf Leader? 8. Easier than it seems (reinforcements help!) but crap he s...

(1) 1.96 medium (2) 8. People find this easy and were able to feed units experience?! I just got my ass handed to me repetitively had the flood grunts i used get wiped out (and my wolf rider). Am I doing something wrong? How do you not only stall, but keep units alive and feed them xp? (3) The "...

Re: Scenario 8: The Princess of Wesnoth

There's not a single reason why should Konrad let Li'sar go away, since she's also a pretender to the title. She should be either captured and hold as prisoner and she should escape from the captivity later for sake of the story - letting her go is a foolish choice, I'm amused that wise Delfador ha...

Re: DiD Endless Night

In case anyone who hasn't beaten Descent Into Darkness has blundered into this thread, it contains SPOILERS. Leave or be spoiled. Yeah Lich is a beast, especially if you get him to level 4. Easiest way to end this is to wait tiil your up against bandits, then rush Malin alone onto unprotected terrai...

Re: Lancers suck!.... in Campaign

Well I was suggesting Lancer's get fixed up, because I didn't understand how to use them, then it became a strategy and tips thread when people explained their proper usage (which I understand now, thanks)

Re: 1.9.6 Possible Gryphon mountain bug

Yeah I read it but I didn't know I needed a replay for the really simple bugs, and it seems I didn't save one for whatever reason. Do you need me to replay the mission to get a replay?

1.9.6 Possible Gryphon mountain bug

If you attack a sleeping gryphon your attack is skipped and the grpyhon wakes up(as opposed to being able to take a free shot). Also it seems odd they have evasion chances considering their asleep.... Edit: Where are Wesnoth saves stored on the PC? I'm having trouble finding them and the search on W...

Re: Scenario 10: Gryphon Mountain

Found a bug in 1.9.6. Attacking a sleeping grpyhon causes your attack to be skipped and the character to lose their turn. As opposed to getting in a free shot, which would make more sense. Also programming oversight.... how do sleeping grphyons DODGE? And now I've beat it, easier than I expected. I ...

Re: Scenario Review: THoT 6 - High Pass

(1) What difficulty levels have you played the scenario on? Normal (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 6 for a rating of beating it without losing anyone, since the ai ganks your troops. (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? Clear, although the market vanishes randomly....

Re: Fate of a Princess

I meant if this is supposed to be an intermediate campaign (I was playing on intermediate). And in fact making hard harder might be a clever idea, especially if this is an expert campaign or you strongly suspect vets to play it. No reason a campaign can't appeal to different levels of skill, that's ...

Re: Trolls

Reading Em's post I think its a mixed of what I typed, and the fact both races are old, stubborn, prone to snap judgements, and slow to shift them. Hence generations and generations of territorial wars slowly escalating, xenophobia, revenge from both sides and just an epic blood fued. Though if anyo...
