Re: Activity?
Well, I asked because I might be interested in contributing something. But it wouldn't do to make an effort if there's nobody reviewing the submissions.

Activity?
Is music development more or less active? I haven't checked here frequently for a long time now. Last time I knew, West had stepped out from managing the music for the game and Tyler had stepped in. What's the situation now? From the latest posts, it seems to be a little quiet around here.

Re: A new song
Not bad, though there isn't much to judge. As you said this is a glimpse, I assume this is a passage of a larger piece. I dislike the chimes in the beginning, but that might be because, in general, I dislike such chimes, i.e. I can't thing of many cases in which I'd advise someone to use them.

Re: Request - Bright & Dark pair
Sorry for the delay, I hope you weren't in too much of a hurry with this :/ No problem, I didn't mean to sound impatient. I just got submerged in tons of work out of the blue. Still, I'll try to finish what I have. I was going to make a more elaborate heroic tune, but what I have can be finished in...

Re: My Newest Composition
I think you are achieving a great sound, but in this particular case, I think the composition doesn't develop any interesting ideas. There are no melodies or themes. It's very promising when it starts, but when it finishes, it leaves a sensatio of emptiness. As it is, it could work as an intro, or a...

Re: Request - Bright & Dark pair
Hey, I said I would do something (and still intend too) but it doesn't mean I will be insulted if anyone else tries something of their own/mine is not picked in the end. I'm mostly doing that for fun, and I hope you all are, too, so don't mind my hypothetic sensibility and just go ahead :) That's t...

Re: Request - Bright & Dark pair
Telaron: PPH said what I would have said, but as you indicate, it does not matter now. Thanks for taking a stab at it though. If you do keep working on Epic Journey, maybe a different thread would be better? Just so that it is easier to find. Dixie: Great! I look forward to seeing what you come up ...

Re: Request - Bright & Dark pair
These low strings sound more like the villain than the hero. If for the heroic theme you use such dark sounds, what do you intend to do for the villanous theme?

Re: Hello - music submission
Excellent. Generally I think it's better, though I miss the strong chords that played together with the timpani. They're still there, but with all the other stuff going on, and with less volume, they are not that strong. The part that starts at 2:00, with the dissonant and weird motives is great, an...

Re: The Dirge of Telaron
I wonder if there is a better alternative to the first three notes. Well, here's one alternative. Though it still sounds... a bit sudden. Maybe I could lengthen the notes? :hmm: I like it this way. The notes could be lengthened and it would still be good, but I think it's not necessary. My wife lik...

Re: Elven Dance
Actually the only difference between versions 5 and 6 was some tuning corrections in the flute. That's probably why it sounded "smoother" to you.Luke the Flaming wrote:For what it may be worth (i.e. next to nothing), I find it nicer ("smoother") than version 5.
Keep up the good work!

Re: Elven Dance
What about this? Maybe few realized there's a new version because I edited my last post instead of making a new one?
