Re: Typo on the home page

Re: Download page

Hi, one question: If one clicks on download, an old wikipage comes up ( http://wesnoth.slack.it/?WesnothBinaries) Can't we replace that with the download instructions from the newer wiki? I mean the docs from here: http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/WesnothBinaries or http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/Download ...

Re: Search the Wiki?

I'm new here, so I apologize if I've missed it, but is there a way to search the Wiki? I can't seem to find a search field anywhere? Or if not, is there at least a page that lists all existing WikiPages? Search is currently disabled. In the meantime you can use google: "word site:wesnoth.org/wiki"....

I think perhaps that it should be more prominent, though. ie. Everywhere there's an 'edit' link there should be a 'discuss' link. A prominent 'discuss' link really does seem to encourage a strong community involvement at wikipedia.? There is only one discussion link in the wikipedia AFAIK. I don't ...

Heh, indeed. IIRC, it is a simple script-fu alpha to logo effect made with the gimp. I had almost forgot about that logo.

Re: New Wiki

scott wrote:Hey so I was over at the wiki just now... more prettiness, less speed. Is that true or was it just me? My department's wiki is slow as @$$ because it re-resolves all external links before serving the page.
This should be fixed now. Thank you scott for reporting and testing it.

It's not really a problem, just a difference. I'm probably just being spoiled. The more links there are on a page the longer it takes, but I might be imagining it. On DSL I'm used to seeing the old wiki pages almost instantly rather than 20-30 seconds it takes now. If you wait 20-30 seconds for a p...

It works fine here, and I'm using a dialup at the moment.
I experienced problems with previous versions of mediawiki, but this one is working pretty fast. Do you have problems with all the pages?

It is an abbreviation of "Actions". It is used for very low resolutions (PDAs...).

Well, I don't know, I believe a name stays a name no matter where you go, specially since we are talking about a "world", but about those places with odd char sets I have no clue what to say really :S I think chinese is a very good example to understand that it is a good idea to make hero names tra...
