Re: Random faction add-on idea

I like the idea. Would be nice to more easily integrate such functionality from within the GUI itself; not everyone reads the forum for instance.

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

I like the Elvish Nightprowler; first, even without gear, it is a decent unit, but more importantly with gear it is great. I tend to use the hit-and-run bow a lot. Overall though, from the basic unit types, I think Elvish Seer is best due to the faerie fire. I always try to add more attacks to that....

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

Slightly making the alliance ring better may be useful. I have a small bug report to make or an improvement. There is this part where you go into hell or something like that. Here you can buy autorecall units. But the display is like 83.333 which makes no sense. We have gold coins at +1 or -1, so fr...

Re: Descent into Darkness story made into full game.

One small issue I have is that most liches in wesnoth are fairly weak. Don't get me wrong! Their attack types are often powerful like 24x5 magic chilling attacks or something like that. But you can still kill them. To me this is ... strange. Isn't a lich usually an undead mage that often has its ess...

Addon Idea - zombiecalypse

With the Coronoavirus currently annoying lots of people, I thought ... how about a campaign, an add-on that integrates SOME ideas from that? Note: I do not mean a 1:1 copy, but things that are found elsewhere. Example: "infect" -> infect a unit with a weapon, then when it dies, spawn an undead or so...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

> That would defeat the purpose of the advancement that reveals the legacy. I am fine with that explanation. One slight problem is that some units seem so much better than others, and then a player may want to have picked the better ones. I have no good solution here, since balancing a game is diffi...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles

I am playing the campaign a bit. There are a few balance issues, IMO. For example, my two favourite unit types by far are the scythe whirlwind guys and the flying healing messenger. I typically give them epic weapons that cause more damage, more attacks too. Flying just beats everything else due to ...

Re: Campaign: Invasion of Arendia

It's good that someone maintained it. It is not a bad campaign; I would rate it as slightly above average. There are a few minor issues, but one that I particularly found annoying was in: "Saving Thrashan" Not only will lots of enemies appear, but my biggest problem is that the allied hero unit (the...

Re: What mainline campaigns are high quality?

Oh that reminds me, about undead: My favourite units by far are the ghosts. I think they beat all the other undead units by far, in particular at a higher level. This is not related to the topic here per se, but since at the least one campaign uses it, I feel that their usefulness often overshadows ...

Re: What mainline campaigns are high quality?

It's been quite some time since I played the mainline campaign. I think the key-one is the one with delf-something (the mage) and ... Karl (damn ... what was the name of the main actor ... who took the sceptre of fire ... Konrad? See it all flies by my head so quickly. Comes with old age.) I think f...

AI (Artificial Intelligence) - some thoughts (and perhaps someone else has ideas for improvements)

The AI in wesnoth is, as probably most know, somewhat limited. The thread here is not about pointing out at that fact, but more that players can manipulate the AI. Part of this is strategy, fair enough - but the other part is how to make it predictable how the wesnoth AI may behave, leading to easie...

Re: War of the Jewel: SP Campaign, 1.11+ (Feedback & Reviews)

In "The shadows within dark pride." I have a hard time figuring out what to do. The objective says: "Go east and rendezvous with xyz." So now I am at that dwarf, with all hero units next to him. Nothing happens. No obvious paths. This is weird. I suggest making the goal more clear. I also saw some W...

[Yearly polls/votes]

Would it be a good idea to make, at the end of the year, yearly polls? Questions could include: - Best storyline. - Best add-on. - Best idea. And so forth. The idea here would be to provide yearly feedback, so that people could use this as "long-term improvements" to the game, in particular for camp...

Re: Female Avatars

I guess part of the problem is that the storylines are often specific for a character; and that character has a gender normally. There are some add-ons that allow you to pick a specific character, where the gender happens to be different. A bit like the old game books, if anyone remembers them - whe...

Aha! I always thought to want to do so via right-click mouse button press ... weird. Wonder if I am the only one.
