Two multiplayer features I'd like

1. Private spectator chat. Just like you have with teammates, all fps games have it since quake 1. Atm spectators can't discuss mistakes/strategy/whatever that a player in a game is making without giving anyway tips to their opponent. 2. In team games I'd like to be able to set it so that when you s...

I've been frequently guilty of just arguing for the sake things or something, especially with ep hehe, which is why I tend to give the forums a miss nowadays. Anyway. I think threads like this are probably more suitable for the strategy section than multiplayer development and maybe they should just...

I'm looking for a teammate, most of the people I would have asked don't seem to play anymore. I'm really competitive and take tournaments way too seriously so needs to be someone good else I'll spend the whole time moaning at them.

Another thing is that maps are being balanced with the assumption player 1 always has the advantage but thats only true where player 2 picks a non-random faction and you play with shroud. Otherwise depending on various factors its arguably player 2 that has the advantage from knowing either (playing...

Is it that wrong to refer to wesnoth as freeware? Its available for free, which I thought was the only meaning of the term freeware.

They're wrong though aren't they :).

I think no one (sane) would ever recruit saurians again with those stats. What do you think the problems are that drakes have with mages and adepts anyway? The drake nightmare is a mass of cheap melee units armed with pointy sticks. Adepts aren't a problem on most maps as they're too slow and you ca...

It'd actually be more difficult for undead I think. It depends on lots of thing but commonly by the turn your forces initially engage its night. I don't see that making it random wouldn't make anything more fair anyway, just random as to who had that unfair advantage.

I definately agree with the guy pigandforks wesnoth 1v1 is much more about tactics than strategy. I always get confused by the difference and have to look it up but anyway. For most of the maps and faction matchups I have a fairly near optimal strategy that I employ pretty much everytime, even if I'...

There are plenty of good reasons to quit a game in progress in the first couple of turns if the players are taking too long with their turns or the map is super stupid or like one of the the players on your team quits and the host refuses to let anyone take over and instead forces you have to a comp...

Leadership is one of the best or even the best (in certain circumstances) special ability in the game already. For the factions that have one, the leader with leadership is already normally the best choice and improving it even more would make all those other units irrelevant.

Hmm, i didn't vote since i had only a couple of games on that map. But i like it. Not too small, not too big. Many villages with strategical challenges, especially if you are playing with 100 gold. You need to find a good balance between splitting forces to get villages and going for a concentrated...

Er that isn't really a counter, dispersing a load of very expensive specialized units all over the map will lose you the game a lot more quickly than just letting the silver mage have its way. The problem is as like ep says most other leader's effect on the game is really insignificant, as you need ...

15 wins against who? The silvermage is overpowered somewhat, in that its almost always a better choice than any of the other available leaders. The Loyalists and Rebel factions certainly aren't overpowered though and the only reason I can think you've won so many games is that you're only playing we...

Why complain specifically about rebels vs drakes at all, I want to know. If theres one faction rebels have the best chance against its probably drakes. On a lot of typical maps they have next to no chance of beating knalgans or northerners or undead.
