Re: my Outpost hurts Hard

That's not an example of a walk-through giving fore-knowledge. The rationale for giving her the weapon has nothing to do with anything other than the information available at the point of decision. It recommends one course of action based upon the probable way the player treats the characters. No. ...

Re: my Outpost hurts Hard

What's the problem with the Sceptre going to Konrad? I did it on my first run-through and won. There's not exactly a problem with it. According to the story it's of course the natural choice, and you can safely win the campaign with Konrad wielding the sceptre. But for example the walkthrough in th...

Re: my Outpost hurts Hard

To me everyone has exactly one chance to prove a scenario is beatable without foreknowledge. In general, as a player I assume every scenario should be winnable without foreknowledge I don't think it's possible or even desirable to make this a strict rule, even if it would be possible to playtest th...

Re: The Succession in Heir to the Throne

What still needs to be figured out, though, is why Konrad and his brothers were seemingly ahead of Li'sar in the line of succession, in a system where women can inherit. Wasn't the succession system in England also strictly patrilinear? Until there came the point, when there wasn't any male heir le...

Re: Increase multiplayer numbers?

If Wesnoth becomes popular enough for that to be a problem, then that could be an option. Otherwise, it's silly to have such a page when it would currently be almost entirely blank. The same could be said of adding a sub-forum. There is zero cost to adding such a page. I could do it in less than 5 ...

Re: Would it be OK to publish an era that uses sprites for units from a 1995 SNES game?

> Old SNES games have in been in de facto public domain for two decades at least. I guess it depends on what jurisdiction you can rely on. Actually it doesn't. There is no real "de facto public domain". Either it is PD, because the copyrights have run out or for other reasons, or it is not. (These ...

Re: Is anyone interested in having the game translated to Arabic?

I think one of the main reasons to play the game in a native (non English) language is lack of the required level of English. And people with insufficient knowledge of English are unlikely to (regularly) read these forums. So, your target audience may simply not read your question. Maybe there is a...

Re: Unit genders

Level-1 would have to be a copy of a human mage in stats so as not to affect the balance, but I don't think higher levels would have to be. Wouldn't this unit at least have to have an elvish moving profile and forest defense? And how would this effect the balance on its own? I'd think, a human mage...

Re: Archers and Range

Ok, there is a person, who hasn't played a single campaign, just the tutorial, and wants to tell us, that all the basic concepts of the game are wrong, because they are different from his favourite game. Also he tells us, that chess, for example, is obviously not a tactical game, because it's part o...

Re: Poll: Do you reload usually if you lost your valuable high-level unit because of a strike of unluck?

Yes, that question is kind of stupid. Of course there are units, you are basically not allowed to lose without making the campaign harder or even impossible to beat, be it important loyals or other restricted unit types. When that happens, I often go on playing and afterwards start the scenario from...

I assure you, no one there ever cried about RNG. […] Just google "civilization rng" and try to find if there persons who do not like Civ's RNG. Well, maybe you should've done that first… https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/rng-civs-detractor.65359/ https://forums.civfanatics.com/thread...

Re: BfW is a game that relies on save-scumming too much

We already passed this. People do not complain on RNG in general, they complain on Wesnoth RNG and mention that RNG is other games is not broken compared to Wesnoth RNG. You can study google results for it. So it is incorrect to mark people who do not like Wesnoth RNG as some silly people who alway...
