Re: Female Avatars

In NR, for example, the slave that decides to revolt could have been a woman. I never said nothing would change in that case--of course it would: Many lines would be a little different, their relationship with Zlex and others would be different, the love story subplot would take on a different dime...

Re: Female Avatars

But are you okay with campaigns where the gender of the leader isn't very important that have male leaders? If so, how does your argument stop being valid when it's reversed? Even if it's not important to the story, one's gender reflects on one's character and how they think. If you could switch a ...

Re: [POLL] What is the best drake campaign in your opinion?

Unfortunately, i only played A Fiery Birth and Ashen Hearts, the latter mainky because i had good experiences with Kwandulin's campaigns. Unfortunately i cannot say i enjoyed it, and the story is way out there to be even remotely connected to mainline.

Re: Female Avatars

Before i comment i just like to remind people ahead of time that I'm a dinosaur, so don't take any of this the wrong way. First off, if "we need more female representation so more women would play our game" is how you go into making a new campaign, it's not going to end well. You obviously can't jus...

Re: To Lands Unknown 3.1.2 - a new gameplay mode!

@jinbo: Interesting... I don't have this issue, but I am using a different OS. Can someone else confirm this bug? Sorry I'm late with this. I just decided to look into this campaign again to see how my device handles the updated graphics, and it looks like almost NONE of the background images rende...

Re: Need Some People To Make A Campaign

1) I'm pretty sure this one already exists.
2) you can't really expect help with this unless you're prepared to do everything yourself.

Re: Scenario Review: THoT 12 - The Underlevels

The scenario was replaced by another one in 1.14.6. So i looked at the new layout out of curiosity and all i can say is, SERIOUSLY? I know the old map was ridiculous and needed to be cut down, but this feels like a joke. Where are the large dwarven halls? Where's the gallery with the hidden treasur...

Re: Top Best UMC campaigns

Favorite UMC's
- Invasion from the Unknown
- Oath of Allegiance
- The Ravagers
- A New Order

I also liked
- Soldier of Wesnoth
- Genesis
But had issues with them. The former had plot points that didn't sit right with me personally, and the second had a somewhat frustrating gameplay.

Re: Names of enemy units

Ever read classical epic poems? From what I've seen, every single one of the enemies the heroes kill gets a name, even if it's never mentioned before. With the exception of enemy leaders who also get a full backstory.

Re: The kings of Wesnoth

In Soldier of Wesnoth the main foe is Arslan Yusafar (I maybe mistaken the spelling), at least from Dunefolk. However, In A New Order, we follow story of Gawen Hagarthen (Gaumhaldric), and he is main protagonist. (He is not Dunefolk actually, but from a new country called Akladia. ) Arslan Yusafar ...

It's not unheard of. In Discworld for example all dwarves have full beards.
Also in LotR. That's the thing. It's an arbitrary cliche that people use because it's how other works did it.

Where's her beard? :hmm:
Do we really need to go that route? I can imagine female dwarves with something like light sideburns but a full beard just sounds, well, incredibly silly.

Re: Poll: Do dragons eat drakes?

Okay, i think this one is a bit silly. I'm saying no. Even is we somehow get around the whole self-cremation thing, drakes just don't look like they're edible at all.
