lhaire, it is easier to edit a save in between scenarios than a turn 1 scenario.

jimis, Preserved lich advancement is not 20%, but the 5% + extra that Dugi described. On updating your version, it depends how comfortable you are with github. Sounds like you aren't super familiar with it, so I suggest fetching from github into another directory, then copying that into the game dir...

Dugi, I believe I just did a pull request on github to fix lhaire's problem. First time I've submitted something via github, so I might have messed it up.

I think changing that one file will fix lhaire's game.

Yup, that's a bug in the unit file. When adding marksman, the file says replace instead of append. It should say

mode=append
{WEAPON_SPECIAL_MARKSMAN}

Which bow? What other bows have you tried? I have definitely seen a bug where some specials were replace instead of append, although I don't remember if it related to equipment.

Foul Potion works for me. Gains hitpoints for killing. If no kills for a few turns, lose hitpoints. Kill again and gain hitpoints.
It goes away when you level up, not when the scenario ends.

If you want a lich with a legacy, you need to read the book of Necromancy in order to become a Lich. I have once made a series of characters (messengers, I think) and leveled them to learn their legacy just to get Phoenix on a Lich. Generally, undead legacy is great just for melee leech. For me, the most dangerous enemies (chapters 7,8,9) are the ones with cold attacks. I wouldn't want to engage them with a ranged attack because I would get slowed and thus be much less able to retreat.
