Hmm. You could use the hat of the duelist or master at arms as reference. I think it looks ok though. The basic shape is recogniceable.
It would help if you remove a few pixels of hair and/or make it darker on each side.

I don't believe the names should be changed. Falcon is a very descriptive and English name for this unit. I like Piercer-> Sunderer for the lancer line. Even with prefix Horseman->Lancer is too confusing. And they are different mechanic-wise. The reason to rename the units is understandable and I completely agree. Never liked current state of non-descriptive names. I'm only touching the particular case for Khalid. I don't believe the other factions have multiple prefixes within the same race, so I would prefer to continue to follow that convention. Arguably the orcs do, since goblins and orcs are the same species, but I see your point. Just an idea - is the prefix name that important in the case of a humanty...

Can't we have both prefixes? I think some unit names sound better with "dune" and some with "dunefolk". Maybe we could even use them as distinction between the liminal and lawful unit. Fire and arcane I could see, but how can cold damage fit a jinn unit? The classical "Genie in the lamp" is able to fulfill wishes and is almost a godlike being. I think his ribcage is misplaced. It should cover the chest and stop at shoulder height instead of extending over his throat.

In default era, only lizard footed races have advantages on sand, so that has been their special territory for so long. I remember it even saying so in the help menu, that lizard footed creatures were adept at fighting on sand where other races were not. Even the reptilian naga do relatively better...
