Re: how about Wesnoth AI contest?
That doesn't sound like it refers to a Wesnoth AI contest specifically (not even in the context of the email).

Re: how about Wesnoth AI contest?
Also, I want to point out an email from the dev list in February, apparently there was some kind of wesnoth ai tournament on the internet at some point (?), so you might want to see how they ran it. That was only a solemn speculative mail to the list by an individual we've (or at least I've) never ...

Re: General discussion about Era and Modification compatibil
- It should recomended to era creators to use allow_scenario restricted to those they know will have expected behavior (or at least acceptable and not crash behavior. That depends on what kind of era you make. If it's just a bunch of units, there's really nothing that would prevent it from working ...

Re: Game is frozen because I changed the settings
Find your preferences file as described here, and remove the xresolution=... and yresolution=... lines. That will make Wesnoth fall back to the default resolution (until you change it again) and will presumably result in a working cursor. As for the problem itself, there was some mouse issue on OSX ...

Re: Avian Faction portraits and sprites
Well, I think the kingfisher and the hummingbird have basically everything a unit needs (baseframe, attack animations, portraits), so if I were you, I'd start working on a new unit, either a level 2 for the existing ones or a brand new line. Having more different base units is usually of higher prio...

Re: Luck in multiplayer
2) Luck balances out - This is tied to point 1. On average, luck evens out, it's a rule of maths, regression to the mean and so forth. But this is not a valid counter-argument. Take the above example, where instead of me dealing 35 damage, I deal 10 and instead of them dealing 20 damage they deal 3...

Re: Problem with 1.10.7 for window
It must be something else, then. Three corrupted downloads in a row is more than unlikely. Unfortunately, I don't have access to a Windows 8 machine, so I'm unable to look into it further, sorry. Let's hope someone else can help.

Re: Problem with 1.10.7 for window
I tried to install 3 times Does that mean that you downloaded the installer 3 times, or just ran the same executable over again? The error message very much sounds like a file corruption problem, try redownloading the installer if you haven't done that yet. Make sure that the process successfully f...

Re: SpriteSheets Aishiko 2014 GSOC feedback request to Artis
I don't like that you need to specify the sheet's dimensions every time you want to get an image. IMO it would be better to keep the spritesheet's parameters hidden from the animation code. Some code to illustrate my point: [spritesheet] sprite_width=72 sprite_height=72 border_size=3 #do we really n...

File -> New Scenario, and voila! (The editor differentiates between plain maps and scenarios, and most of the fancy new tools are only available for the latter).

I almost forgot about this. So, the contest is over and the winner is After the Storm with a freaking number of 8 votes! Congrats, shadowm (even if I know that you care absolutely nothing about this)!
