Re: UEFI secure boot and Linux

I don’t think this is about Microsoft becoming restrictive, but rather about allowing OEMs to do as they want when they are historically known to not care enough about supporting non-Microsoft operating systems. Well, they already provide approximately zero support for everything different than Win...

Re: UEFI secure boot and Linux

So Microsoft is becoming more restrictive by NOT requiring manufacturers to implement certain features in their products? Scandalous power abuse! :P

Crap. You didn't fix the biased RNG. And seriously, no WYSIWYG campaign editor? Are we in 1995 or what?

Re: allow user to download & play replays from server in lob

I have plans to implement a similar feature (integrated in the load game dialog rather than the lobby, though). I'm not sure when - if ever - will it materialise, however.

Re: Art usage

GPL was written with computer programs in mind, so how it applies to artwork is a bit vague (and I think it will remain so until someone brings a similar case to court). From my point of view, the rule book, game cards etc. form one entity as a board game which, provided that you use GPL artwork, ma...

Re: Change title screen music

The problem is that making enough bits of frankenmusic, which will fit together in a non-jarring way would, require a lot of work and at least 1 genius level musician + decent coder with musical inclinations/understanding. ...and this exactly why it's not going to happen. What are the plans for eva...

Re: Change title screen music

Several people who’ve posted in this thread have the power to turn the OP into a poll. It should’ve been a matter of someone actually doing it instead of attempting to have a meta-poll for it. I referred to the fact that nobody replied to my suggestion to make a poll. Meh, I probably shouldn't be s...

Re: Change title screen music

Since apparently nobody's too excited about making this a poll, I'll just but Transience back to duty, as per doofus-01's and Tyler's suggestion. Thanks for your opinions guys!

EDIT: Done in a7f4849.

Re: Change title screen music

So it seems that I have quite a company in disliking the main theme (sorry Crow_T!) but there's no clear preference for a replacement. Since our last Lord of Music is officially gone, what about putting this on a vote?

Change title screen music

I launched up Wesnoth a few minutes ago and was reminded once again how much I hate when the game blasts its introductory fortissimo in my face. I couldn't name another game that features such a loud title screen music and I really do think we should follow the mainstream here and switch to somethin...

Re: Variable anchor for status bars, orbs, etc.

Bump. I committed a change (again) that anchors bars and orbs to the sprite's topleft. Hopefully no more issues with zooming. This commit does not add WML configurable anchor positions. If someone wants that really bad, it can be implemented easily by slight amendments to commit 6300d29 and the unit...

Re: Stem tracks released for TM, TKID, OTNM and others.

I think you're seeing too much into this. It's Christmas season after all, I'd imagine that forum traffic is severely reduced these days. I for one certainly appreciate the release but haven't browsed the Wesnoth fora for a week or so. (I can't to be your third downloader right now, however, because...

Re: Support for using the Qt & QtQuick gui toolkit

This is not the proposal. I compared SDL's and Qt's portability to argue that adding Qt to the dependencies is not reducing Wesnoth's portability much. Ah, sorry, I misunderstood then. I don't think I've ever seen an application mixing Qt and SDL, can you link an example? Event handling could be ra...

Re: Support for using the Qt & QtQuick gui toolkit

Hmm, did you think this over? The utilization of SDL in Wesnoth goes far beyond just buttons and sliders, as I presume you know as well. Ditching SDL for Qt might not only be a tremendous effort, but also an unbeneficial one considering that Qt is not exactly designed with game development in mind. ...
