Re: Steelhive Faction feedback/balancing

If you're still interested, I can PM you the notes and stuff over PM. I’m still interested. I’ve created a GitHub repository for this era, provisionally named “zerovirus-era” (you have a better name, right?). While forum PMs work for one-to-one communication, if you’d like to discuss things with me...

Re: Modify Unit from existing unit's modifications

I think it might be…

Code: Select all

[set_variables]
    name=other_stored_unit.modifications
    to_variable=unit.modifications
    mode=append ## Or mode=replace, if that’s what you want.
[/set_variables]

Re: Steelhive Faction feedback/balancing

If anybody wants to help me update Repairs+4 and Repairs+8 to 1.12-compatible format, that'd be cool As far as I know, the big 1.12 ability description format change is merely that the ability’s name is no longer included in its description — so this: description= _ "Repairs +8: This unit repairs a...

Re: Force a single hit to fail (Workaround with probabilitie

I think that this should do the trick: […] It is [wiki=LuaWML:Units#wesnoth.get_units]wesnoth.get_units[/wiki] that takes a StandardUnitFilter ; [wiki=LuaWML:Units#wesnoth.get_unit]wesnoth.get_unit[/wiki] takes only coordinates or an underlying_id . So, a proper implementation of such a WML action ...

Re: Graziani XML Questions

I just want that if the player lose x villages = defeat , and in the same time each time he lose 1 village, a speech occurs (or other event)... Have you tried something like this? [event] name=prestart {VARIABLE villages_lost 0} [/event] [event] ## Note that this literally only checks how many vill...

Re: Silence's WML Questions

However when I attempt to spawn a Wolf for this side using the previous function it does not appear. Is there something I'm missing? The only anomaly I see in your SideWML is that you specify both canrecruit=no and no_leader=yes . canrecruit is a SingleUnitWML attribute, not a SideWML attribute. Si...

Re: Elvish_Hunter's Lua thread

I support this proposal. There are, however, some issues I would raise with it. Firstly, re the implementation — and usage — of the extract_children function — -- this function removes all the sub-tags from a given tag -- returns the "cleaned" tag as literal and all its children local function extra...

Re: Silence's WML Problems/Questions

I'm trying to make a Wolf spawn on a random coordinate every 4 turns. I would use something like this: [event] name=spawn_wolf first_time_only=no ## Spawn a Wolf at a random location: {VARIABLE_OP rand_x rand <min>..<max>} {VARIABLE_OP rand_y rand <min>..<max>} {GENERIC_UNIT <side> Wolf $rand_x $ra...

Re: How to prevent AI from moving?

I disclaim having any major knowledge of AiWML, but, theoretically, including…

Code: Select all

[ai]
    [avoid][/avoid]
[/ai]
…in the relevant [side] tag should forbid that side’s AI from moving any units anywhere, except for its leader, who you say you have already prevented from moving.

Re: Problem With Variables

value is not a valid comparison key to use in [variable]; try using equals instead.

Also, what is the point of the gender_1 variable? As far as I see, it is the same as the gender_0 variable.

Re: proposal for a new syntactic macro

Alternatively the [variable] tag could be changed so that it includes negated versions of all keys, but that is probably more work. According to the wiki , [ variable] already does support negated versions of all comparison keys except contains . {IF_VAR side_number not_equals $SCHED_P[$PICK_CTR].v...
