Re: A New Start

I'm horrible at levelling "cavalry" type units. I have level 2's across the board in SotBE, except for riders. :?

Re: EI: The Outpost (Royal Guard)

I haven't played 1.9x yet so I can't comment on that. But with 1.8.6 on normal difficulty, I had success sending out some distractions and evacuating Gweddry from the keep as the undead got close. Somehow I survived. Frankly this whole campaign could probably qualify as expert. I'm working my way th...

Re: the Princess's revenge (strategies)

It took me at least 20 times to beat this scenario. I finally did it by recruiting fodder thieves to occupy trees and villages, and then recalling all my level 2's and 3's to surround Konrad and make a mad dash for the mountains in the southeast. I only had a level 2 Knight (not Haldiel :( ) and no ...

Re: HttT Valley of Death on hard - all dead

Man, I wish I had that kind of skill. I surrounded Konrad with thieves and my entire level 2-3 army and ran for the southeastern hills, and I still barely survived. I lost Morimu (or whatever his name was) but didn't care, as long as I just beat the level. And this was after numerous save-loads. I'l...

Re: Banking=evil?

Banking is not evil. Any opponent who complains about it is probably just not competent enough to use a counter-strategy. It's not fun to play against, like countering bats who swarm the map and snatch villages, but it's vaild.

Re: Isle of the Damned

Once my land forces have the upper hand, a handful head to the temples to trigger the white mage. I will also recruit 2-3 more initiates to join the attack on the northern liche. I think my main problem was trying to trigger the mage too early as possible. I would detach some footpads and rush in, ...

Re: Isle of the Damned

Success! I made my merman assassin squad larger and sent them south as usual. I kept Konrad on the keep and kept sending in a steady flow of footpads, instead of pulling him off early. The larger numbers definitely helped. I didn't worry as much about the temple, I focused on holding my position in ...

Re: What Kind of Player Are You?

Well it depends on the size and type of the map, but generally I'm defensive. I bide my time, build my forces, organize my battle line according to terrain and time of day. I like to let the enemy come to me. And since I mostly play SP against the AI, I can usually throw out a few speedbumps and fei...
