Re: For Linux version:Option to choose where userdata is loc

it should default to the location that is given by standards and best practice guidelines for the particular os. If you are claiming there is a advantage to putting userdata in one location verses another, tell us what that advantage is and back it up with some evidence, otherwise this is meaningle...

Re: Ubuntu and save locations.

How is this suppose to work anyway? Does it transfer all the files from the previous location to the location you specify? Or just plant new files there where you'd have to drag all the other files over from another location? The irony of getting posts to my suggestion thread to improve all this dis...

Re: For Linux version:Option to choose where userdata is loc

It can be done? You can choose where your user data goes when you install wesnoth? No you can not. Can you tell wesnoth you want the user data to go to X location and have it remember? No you can not. Does wesnoth choose somewhere in home as a default location for userdata? No it does not. Does wesn...

Re: For Linux version:Option to choose where userdata is loc

That does not work for me, if you checked out the link at the top of my post you would find a thread where I am seeking help with exactly that issue. Anyway, even if I did get it to work, that shouldn't be necessary in the first place. Nor should the files be invisible etc. I stick by my suggestions...

For linux version:Option to choose where userdata is located

1. The ubuntu/lunux version of the game should ask you where userdata should go/where it already is upon installation. 2. One should be able to select a new location for userdata at will, and have wesnoth remember that new location. If this could cause userdata to be transfered and deleted from the ...

Re: Ubuntu and save locations.

That same link again, once is enough. And I don't see that command anywhere on that page. I cut and pasted the file path. And the location I choose. /home/user, doesn't require password authentication to save at. And the sudo command, which normally provides the password authentication, I would not ...

Re: Ubuntu and save locations.

You mean I have to run that command before every time I load the game? And this sets the saves to go in another location, but no other files? That command seems a bit generic to be specific to saves. Ok, tried the command anyway, and got alot of error messages in the terminal, alot of "06:35:31 erro...

Re: Ubuntu and save locations.

So how do I tell wesnoth to look for and place its saves in another location? Something to do with that "-config-dir "?

Ubuntu and save locations.

I really, really, really, wish I could choose where my saves go. For that matter, where do they go??? Could I load a save made with the linux version of wesnoth and load it from windows version of wesnoth and visa versa? Also, I wish this game would let you choose where to put it, and where to put i...

Colosseum <New Land> Three Kingdom- Bugged loaded from save.

This map is fun, but one can't load from save on it. When we try, it assigns one player to control all the AI sides. Even if we droid and undroid all the AI sides, the player can still find themselves controlling the red side. Also, there is a sync issue where one side sees it as a players turn, but...
