Re: The Hammer of Thursagan portrait repaints(update4)

That looks like top-notch work, I like it a lot. I think it's easily above mainline standard.

Re: Apocalypse Era 3D art please critique.

Aha. Very good now, I like it a lot. The blade curve does indeed look a lot better, I think. I would still shave off a few pixels on the corner of the right (his right) side of the cape. Also, are you using black for outlines? It looks much better to use dark (value 10ish) of the same color that the...

Re: drake fighter complete

WINR

If the drake fighter sprite had the scoops as the weapon, I think it would be reasonable to make the portrait weapon scoops. I'm just talking about consistency here, not realism.

Re: Zero's art. Gambit has this way of getting me to do art.

I think your Aetherguard's armor suffers from World of Warcraft/Warhammer syndrome, but maybe that's just me.

The drakes and drake bits look awesome.

Re: Orcish Rookie

I'm just going to point out that that is four times the head size (double width, double length). You're the final word, of course, since it's your artwork. I was just saying that the head size, to me, seems rather small. EDIT: Here's a quick job of what I mean. As you can see, I've probably increase...

Re: Art for Era of Mystery

Unfortunately the problem of the shading on your hoplite is not just a problem with the light direction, but with the way you shade. You need more contrast between what is "bright" and what is "dark" on your units, i.e. the points away from the light need to be darker, and the pixels closer to the l...

Re: Woodmouse's sprites

I think a big problem with your dark shading is that it is too flat. I put a red box around the areas on the mainline Sea Serpent where the "dark" shading is. As you can see, the shading is still dithered and varied in the dark areas. I put a red box around similar regions on the attached unit. You ...

Re: artisticdude's art, critique welcome

I would say that the dark borders between the parts of the newest sprite (i.e. his torso and shoulder, etc.) detract from the work.
