Re: retouche of existing art

I think that's actually pretty good - they're similar enough that I would consider them part of the same line.

The only issue is that the scepter does need more definition, as the others have said.

Re: Setanesh Faction (Art Thread)

On the dryads, I think levels 1 and 2 look a bit too similar... I have been having issues with that - there's not much difference between them besides level, so it's an issue to make them significantly different besides size, but I see that issue with the Wose in mainline - it's rather difficult to...

All of your spritework, especially these bits, reminds me of Cortex Command.

Re: Tribal Frankies for UMC; Constructive Criticism

70% Defense is pretty extreme. Only Elvish Archer's in forest, dwarves in mountains, etc. get that high of a defense. It should really be the highest defense there is, used sparingly. Good cover, even good cover that is the race's natural environment, should really only be 50 or 60 percent.

Re: Waterfalls

I would agree that this is a better idea (having waterfalls instead of small trickles), but there needs to be more emphasis on why the water would flow that way. I think the photo accurately shows what I mean. Think about how water cuts through rock over time, and how waterfalls look compared to the...

Re: Orcish Rookie

A little bit of critique in quick edit form: I widened the head by 1 pixel, and increased the size and sharpness of the stone axehead. Your previous handle/haft for the axe was a yellowish color, which looked out of place to me - but wood wouldn't be a good choice either, since it's too close to his...

Re: artisticdude's art, critique welcome

I disagree that the unit with the glaive was pillowed - I think the light direction is pretty clear on that one. But as others have said, he's about the size for a level 0.

Re: Woodmouse's sprites

I would actually disagree with Frogger - I think you've used enough texture and contrast. What the unit needs is a clear light direction.

Re: More B-movie era units.

I'm going to be honest - that stance is even more ridiculous. Now she looks like she has bow-leggedness and is balancing on her tiptoes.

Try putting the feet in correct perspective, and thinking about which direction the knees should face.

Re: Ancient Mediterranean-Themed Units

Very nice; the changes look good (although you didn't do anything to the chest area).

I would say his sword is rather long for a typical Hellenistic sword; it's more like a medieval broadsword.

Re: Apocalypse Era 3D art please critique.

The entire head really needs to be reshaded to the new light direction.

There's also something that bothers me about the stance, but I can't place my finger on it, so it's probably just me.

What? You know, there's something called a neck.

I can preform that same motion while keeping my head pointed in the same direction.

Re: Orcish Rookie

I would say the axehead needs to be just slightly larger for the purposes of exaggeration.

What is the Team Color behind his back supposed to be?
