Re: The naming of wolves

I'm pretty much shocked by people's reactions to putting REFERENCES into campaign. Gosh. Either they complain about referenced works, or insert [acronym=SOMEONE USED THAT NAME HE'LL SURE SUE YOU IF YOU USE IT I MEAN IT]Wesnoth Forums Generic Copyright Remark[/acronym]. Brr. Yeah, I live in fear tha...

And the map editor lets you develop your own campaigns and scenarios. :annoyed: Awesome.

Re: The naming of wolves

... Theumisos (the Theumesian Fox was a giant mythological fox that devated a region of Greece), That must have been a hell of a big fox. Like, the Mothra version of a fox. Some of the Norse ones you mention are already on my list, but I'll certainly add Laelaps and Theumesios the brobdingnagian me...

Re: Help with {MODIFY_UNIT} macro

You only need to store your unit once at the beginning, and unstore once at the end. And I don't think you'd ever need a full heal in a prestart event.

Re: Weapon special hitting multiple enemies

Yeah this is a pretty common weapon special, you can find it in most eras. Look at utils folder in Era of Magic for all sorts of variations on this. Basically, you want to create an attack event, either attacker_hits or attack or etc. You store adjacent enemies in a variable then reduce their hitpoi...

Re: The naming of wolves

Sorry but comparing Snoopy to Dogbert is like comparing Pavarotti to Justin Bieber. MK, I don't know how you translators go about your magic of translating name strings, I'll just leave you to it. If it sounds good in U.S. english, I just throw it in there and at this point the campaign's a minefiel...

Re: Help with {MODIFY_UNIT} macro

The code I suggested will work in 1.8 if it's in [event] name=advance -- I don't know if it works in all other events.

As Anon says, don't use variable=unit inside [store_unit]. In the course of a full turn, variable=unit switches to each unit on the map, so you can't actually store it.

Why is "each race" in Weldyn? It's a loyalist city.

Re: Trubbol Sprites!

I'm not an artist, so the quality of my criticism is limited. But your sprites are much taller than Wesnoth sprites, and they really need some shading to suggest contour and volume, they look very flat right now. There's a shading tutorial on the wiki, even though the image links are all dead, it mi...

It's really beautiful. But the wrist looks odd, and wouldn't the scabbard be on the same side as the shield?

Re: Wesnoth Tutorial: Part I

One way to avoid the "I'm still figuring this out" message every turn is simply set up a moveto event that will trigger scenario end. Tell the player, "When you're ready to move to the next lesson, move Konrad (or Li'sar) to the windmill."

Re: Help with {MODIFY_UNIT} macro

You are not defining your traits correctly. #define SWORD_WOUNDED [attack] damage=1 description=_"kard" icon=attack/sword-human.png name=sword number=4 range=melee type=blade [/attack] #enddef Go to data/core/macros and open traits.cfg -- There you will find the proper way to write your traits.

Re: Swamplings - v1.1.7 - for 1.8 and 1.9

Wow, lipk ... you solved that 16 minutes after the post! Not bad at all. I'm still working on alterego's wolf rider bug, but I can't find a trace of it.

[edit]
There is now a new version on the 1.8 server that fixes the Giant Rat bug discovered by aaack0
