Re: How do I listen to the .ogg wesnoth music files??

I second the CCCP recommendation. I've had it for a long time and it works like a charm, not just for .ogg but also for other formats.

Re: Such a shame

You know what is such a shame... The person who wrote this thread has put no additional input into it. Seriously, there should be some indication of actual involvement before being allowed to open new threads. I mean some really nice discussions have unfolded from a few of these one-post wonders......

Re: Such a shame

Although I personally have never had to, I would be uncomfortable with having to go back further than the beginning of an scenario to be able to complete a campaign - it would clash with the storytelling and sense of flow to have to do several scenarios over again, the text for which I had already r...

Re: Transferring Over Ribbons

It's also possible to add the ribbons manually if you completed a campaign before you got your current preferences file. If you open the preferences file in a text editor, you'll see that line 14 says completed_campaigns="". The campaigns that are written between the quote marks will have the ribbon...

Re: Such a shame

OP, if you have trouble with the difficulty, I suggest you try to complete the campaigns in easy mode. If you still need to reload in order to finish scenarios and campaigns, all I can assume is that you are not a very good Wesnoth player. Wesnoth is actually more similar to AW than FE; you don't re...

Re: Wesnoth IRL

cosplay No. Costumes leads to plays leads to fan art leads to comics leads to Lisar getting raped by octopodes. Hahaha, based on that and this topic, I guess people around here don't like cosplay too much. Anyways, I catch only the rarest glimpses of conventions and cosplay in the real life, and th...

1.7.11 game title doesn't show up if using smallgui

I have a minor issue. I recently updated from 1.6.5 to 1.7.11. Since I use a netbook, I edited the target of my Wesnoth shortcut to include " --smallgui". However, upon opening the game, the main screen is missing the game's title (the one that is written in golden letters with a shiled in the backg...

Re: About the name "arcane magic."

Moved to the appropriate forum. Thank you. I apologize for having posted on the wrong forum. If you are only changing the name of the type of magic solely for aesthetics and now offer two different resistances that are identical, what does that do but potentially confuse people while the current sy...

About the name "arcane magic."

I'm not sure if this belongs on this forum, but it seemed like the best place to put it. I understand that due to NRIW, "holy" magic was changed to "arcane" magic. But on looking at the arcane magic spells, I perceive two rather distinct kinds of attacks. The undead use things like touch and shadow ...

Re: Scenario Review - Tutorial Part I

Well, I did the tutorial when I first got Wesnoth in version 1.6.4. I would like to start by making one thing clear; the tutorials work . Between this scenario and the next one, I went from knowing nothing about Wesnoth to being reasonably able to hold my own in missions. I've played a lot of turn-b...

1.6.4. Pretty late, but I'm glad to have gotten to experience all the polish the game had developed over versions.
