Re: help needed

Tested with 1.9.3 - it does nothing at all. ... that's probably because you didn't put it in an ability. What I actually did was edit the Heals+8 ability in core, put a white mage next to a couple of hurt/non-hurt allies (in a new hotseat game), and wait for it to hurt them. For the side turn and n...

Re: help needed

and about 1st, there are a problem with "new turn" event, isnt it? To answer this question specifically: "new turn" would do approximately what you want, but the damage would always occur at the start of the first player's turn, which might be odd if the unit is on some other si...

Re: help needed

is there any way to make regeneration skill with minus value? Just make an ability using [heals] and put in a negative integer within the "value" attribute. Tested with 1.9.3 - it does nothing at all. The only way to do this would be with an event, i.e.: [event] name=side turn first_time_...

Re: [terrain_graphics] layering question

Okay, I've looked through the macros (in 1.8.1, but hopefully it hasn't changed since then), and my recommendation is to use OVERLAY_L instead of OVERLAY_P. OVERLAY_L assumes a 100% chance of your embellishment showing up, and uses the number you give to decide what it overlaps over... anything grea...

[time_area] might do what you want, since times can have associated tile masks.

Aye, and she is, mostly. I do the uploading and the difficult coding.

Re: help needed

he isn't setting a variable, x1 and y1 are variables that are automatically stored during most events. Oh... ok. Guess I'll look again. Question 1: That can't be done - the closest thing you can do is make an event that hurts the unit every turn, at the start of its turn. Question 2: With Pentarcta...

Re: help needed

For question 1 - this is wrong with it: x,y=$x1,$y1 You can't set variables in a filter. Take that line out of the filter, and change your [kill] block to: [kill] x,y=$unit.x,$unit.y animate=no [/kill] (Style note - I like to use "id=$unit.id" instead of "x,y=$unit.x,$unit.y", bu...

Re: Bug in 2p Caves of the Basilisk

No easy solution - it would take either an addition to the C++ aspect of Wesnoth or a change to this scenario that actually affects gameplay (that is, replacing the statues with items that can be stepped on).

Re: I need to create a ai controlled side..for an era.

That I knew. What I need to know is how to compare the lists. Can I stick a "[not]" tag in the [store_side]? (So that it stores all the sides who are not allied) EDIT: This is the code I have for storing the sides, after I have stored their leaders: {FOREACH leaders num} [set_variable] na...

[mainline] Filter Feeding ability to avoid double-triggering

Relevant changes: #define ABILITY_FEEDING TYPE ... [filter_second] ability=feeding type={TYPE} [/filter_second] Why? So that two different units with the Feeding ability can be in play at the same time without doubling its effect. Currently UMC campaigns work around this in various ways, but it's a ...

Re: [engine] Repair Stoning Ability

It seems to me that petrification has become the de facto way to "shut off" a unit, and dispelling petrification willy-nilly is irresponsible WML. However, this means that the petrification attack special is very difficult to use safely - unless it is used in a campaign where all code in t...

Right, it's for 1.8. I had forgotten that the non-stable version would have an add-on server. Is the non-stable version popular enough that it's worth downloading it and testing/uploading campaigns through it?
