Re: A Strategy Guide for FFA Games

There arent overly many FFA games going on in the server lately and some players have communicated strange believes about FFA, so maybe some extra ideas would help. Guide to WINNING in a free for all 1. Be ready to lose 3-7 times in a row I personally like 5 player FFA maps most. With 5 players you ...

Re: A New Land addon - Wesnoth 1.4

Played it with 1.6.5, wanted to be able to host, wasnt on add-ons, searched the internet for 2 hours, found a few versions that caused errors on loading (some tags missing in the files). Heard that its included in the development branch, but why would I trade a stable version for development? How I ...

GUI click sounds come too late

When clicking something in the GUI (preferences etc), the click sound comes like half a second later than it should. I think that once the click is detected, the code does some GUI stuff and then plays the sound, while it could play the sound first and then do the action, it would look a lot less li...

Re: SLOW Performance Issues: post here to Help

Windows xp, Wesnoth Version 1.6.4+svn, English US language, Celeron (:)) 1.7Ghz sth, 512 500~mhz RAM, Geforce 5600 XT. To produce a problem, you need a really high hp unit with berserker attack and a whole bunch of AI units around it, that can all attack it. All AI melee attackers have like 99,99% c...

Re: Map editor: resizing messes up the terrain.

Yeah it makes sense actually, since the hexagons just have to move to "wrong" places. While the coordinates prolly stay correct, it looks bad. I think there should really be limitator then, that you cant add odd number of columns to left. I deleted my map after it happened, didnt look like it could ...

"Would you care to post a bug report at gna?"

To be honest, no. Or maybe if you explain what does "posting a bug report at gna" mean really?

Map editor: resizing messes up the terrain.

Version 1.6.4+svn Windows XP I resized the map quite a few times and it worked fine, but after a few more resizes it messed up the terrain just a little bit everywhere. Most of the tiles are still there, but it looks like every other column of hexagons was copied over the one next to it. The mixed-u...

Re: Scenario Review: DiD 7 - A Small Favor - Part I

Kind of late but: (1) "Difficult", version 2009 end something. (2) impossible, if you dont know in the previous scenario, that you need either shadows or specters and lots of them, to beat this one. Which is absurd, since I cant possibly know beforehand, that i need to make 4-6 specters or 2+ shadow...

Asymmetric 5p FFA "Oblikamets"

And a lot of it. And then more. I made a map inspired greatly by Forest of fear. As it is asymetrical, it is very likely terribly unbalanced when it comes to good players. However beginners and average players should already be abled to have fun on it without noticing the imbalance so much. I read s...

I know the topic is really old but I was having similar problem caused by "special" characters in wesnoth path and I was trying to fix it in agony for 2 days before finding this particular topic. Of course everything works perfectly after reinstalling with the default path. I think it should be poin...

How to select a block of terrain in editor? (Not kidding)

I have found options like "rotate selection" and "fill selection", so it would be logical if I could somehow select some part of terrain to then rotate or fill it. However, I can not understand how to select some part of terrain. This seems to be so basic that I couldnt find a guide for this. So how...
