Also I think the devs decided long ago, in regards to "accuracy" that nothing (in mainline) can go over 80% chance to hit. And this 80% only occurs in water.
Doesn't the heavy infantry have 10% defense in water?

Re: Ladder Site Online...

meh. it seems like we have different views on the importance of leaders/initial recruits and it seems highly unlikely that we will find a way to shift each other's viewpoint by talking on the forums. he still doesn't have the luxury of picking a leader, which is a disadvantage he will always have. ...

Re: Ladder Site Online...

Forbiddian, you are not even considering that people actually like to play random. At least I do and I believe there are many more who think so. It makes scouting more important and you have to deal with the uncertainty at the start so you have to think instead of just realizing your plan against a...

Re: Ladder Site Online...

In regards to the last two posts, non-random players get to pick leaders that fit the map/their playing style, wheras random players don't get that luxury, and also run the risk of getting a sub par leader, say a wose. In a match between two skilled players, if one can utilize their leader in some w...

Re: Ladder Site Online...

So I'm making a suggestion that apparently hasn't been discussed: For ladder play, if one player wants to pick a civ, he can require his opponent to choose a civ as well. If the opponent truly wants to play random for whatever unknown reason and not to gain an unfair advantage, the opponent can rol...

Orcs rush, Drakes run, counter, die.
Just to be fair, you did make some mistakes in your game.

It's the most enjoyable matchup in Wesnoth. Both sides can do massive damage to the other.
Indeed.

Re: This is how the Dwarves lost Moria

As far as level 0 units requiring upkeep goes, a clean way to go about that without radically affecting the mechanics would be to have every X amount of lvl zeroes requiring 1 gold. This way, small numbers of level 0s wouldn't be affected, but it would make it harder to spam large amounts of them.

Re: Leveling Choice: Grand Knight vs. Paladin

It's very similar to the choice you have when leveling a clasher.

You can choose a more versatile unit, or a unit that has more raw attack power.

Re: Ladder Site Online...

I have no opinion on number 1, but 2. As for x and y, I would say that more than one game should be played before a passive player is on the ladder again, just because any length of time could have passed since they last played. y=30 is fine, and I think x=3 might not be too bad, however , a much be...

Or...why not even Drake smasher ? Considering they do use a mace... Shows how much attention you're paying to the revamp. The Enforcer and Slasher now use headbutts for their impact attack. Sorry. Must have have missed that. But regardless, I don't feel that slasher should be the new name for the g...

Re: Melinath's Descriptions: Drakes

As discussed on IRC, I think renaming the Gladiator to Slasher, a name formally held by the other branch of the Clasher line, is not the best option. I don't think this solution would be ideal as old documentation, forum posts, etc., would lead to confusion. Besides, Slasher is more intuitive of a ...
